I agree with 3708772. Leave it for some time and I'm sure it'll blossom. Stories are like flowers, it needs time to grow.
Don't feel bad. At least you have so many people reading your stuff, even if it's just smut they only care about. I've been here for a few years and none of my stuff gets attention, but I still write anyway because I enjoy it.

I know the feeling. Sometimes it feels like there's no reason for writing when you put that much thought into something only to have your one shot smut fic get all the attention even if it was horribly written. My stories suffered from such at the beginning but later they became more well known so just keep trying my friend!

just give it time bro, you just put up consideration. Waiting for sunset has been around forever compared to that. It was good, I betaed it, remember? It was good, it was touching, and that is all that matters, not everyone is in here just for the smut bro! we are here, we are willing to be one the few who stand out from the crowd no matter what. In the end, it is you who must decide, will you write YOUR fics? or will you allow others to Dictate what you write?

Yes, I'm still on your side. Its rude that people just laugh at you. But you have to understand that some things people like more then others. Heck, my fics(on a different site) have views, and the ones I write about personal loss either get read or aren't read. What I'm trying to say is, some people will click on some things more then others.
It might have to do with the genre, or it might have to do with other stuff. I honestly don't know. I'm just trying to tell you that its not the best idea to be depressed about it, or the flamers will pounce like starving wolves.

My second or third fic on here: It was trash. I based it off the phantom of the opera, and after a few days, it had several dislikes. 9 or 10 I think. I edited it, asking 'whats with all the hate, guys? At least comment.' Two days later: 40 dislikes
I edit again saying 'ok guys you could at least tell me what I'm doing wrong please stop hating'
About a week later(I had to leave my computer behind while going somewhere else) 60 or 70 dislikes
Really, people will read what they want to read. My first fic here got absolutely trashed with hater comments.
Honestly, people on this will be more likely to read fics that contain clop or steamy moments rather than the emotional and sad fics. It's kinda like YouTube in a way.

Empty lust. That's what's consuming so many people's hearts these days. Empty lust. They don't care about emotions or character development anymore. Yeah, it's sad, but I wouldn't worry about it.
If that's the way the world wants to be, that's their problem.
3708868 Some people have a lack of desire for good-quality stories and instead, satiates it with the dark side of a person's mind: Lust. Don't worry about it too much because a lot of people here can clearly see your talent in writing, the use of character development, etc. and in my opinion, they're just missing out on the good bits. Besides that, keep it up and going.

Ok, wow. That was just uncalled for. I tried to tell you that some things get clicked on. I don't know what makes people decide that. One of my works that isn't even complete(And its a oneshot) was posted earlier then I would've liked and yet it has over 200 views. And an earlier work, a super sad work(Who am I kidding, their all kinda sad, I'm an angst writer for Celestia's sake) only has 34 views.
My very first work, which has been on that site the longest, has 36 views.

3708868 Hey, I would like to point out that next to sunset, Attachment has over 130 likes, and pride of the Apples (Personal favorite of mine so far) Has 82 likes. Id say that those are pretty good statistics bro. While, yes a good majority may only like your Steam Pieces, there those of us that love deep stuff as well.
