Steady Progress · 10:46pm Jan 17th, 2016

Decided to take a page out of FoME's book and title the blogpost after one of my favorite magic cards I've yet to get to play. :derpytongue2:

More on topic, I just finished another scene in the next chapter of Desert Spice. I blame a combination of random inspiration striking, and FTL kicking by butt much more egregiously than usual (boarders on the first jump, or the first ship dodging four shots in a row while pouring missiles into my shields... It was more frustrating than usual.)

The scene I wrote last night was the last scene in the chapter chronologically, but I still have one more scene to write. It should be fun, as it'll involve a healthy helping of flooffy rage.

Speaking of floofficorns, it's looking like people generally prefer Spicy's magic to be sky-blue rather than yellow. While I still have a slight preference for the yellow – it looks rather like a candle's flame and strengthens her association with fire – but I was asking because I liked both ideas and wanted to go with what looked right.

Well, that's another question answered for when I finally get around to making Tastes Like Heresy into a comic.

:rainbowlaugh: I do enjoy influencing people, though this isn't quite what I was expecting.

In any case, glad to hear your words are proliferating. Just make sure Amber pays careful attention to which oil she's using and you should be fine.

Spicy makes sure to only use the finest ingredients. She finds that no dish is compleat without a little of Jin's Synthetic Oil. One drop is all you need, and it's like you're a whole new person. :pinkiecrazy:

Really, though, Steady Progress just happened to be an exceptionally applicable name. The card in question has a home in my GU Ezuri deck; now I just need somebody to play it against.

If Spice is supposed to be the orange pony with the red hair in the cover, Sky blue magic seems a touch out of place. Not that the colors make a ton of sense in canon afaik beyond the alicorns (Celestia-yellow, Luna-blue, Cadence-pink/blue?, Twilight-purple). I mean Shining Armor has pinkish magic... I'll have to keep an eye out whenever I get around to watching stuff again and see what color other ponies' magic is.
