Writing Prompts · 5:01pm Jan 4th, 2016
As the title says, I'd like some prompts. I'd still like to rearrange some of the already written chapters so that things don't seem to rushed, but that requires some padding. What are things Thomas and Talon can do to build a stronger bond with one another? All I need, I think, are one or a few sentences summarizing a story idea from which I can expand upon.
For example, Talon teaching Thomas to use his sword... the one they purchased. However, I'm drawing a blank on how to expand upon that. If you know any stories, or better yet episodes of any old thing that describes the beginning of of swordsmanship training then that would be awesome. I've also got a couple ideas for Talon and Moonlight saving him from some awkward situations, but it would be nice if there were things he could help them with. And as soon as I figure out how to work it in earlier, I'll finally be showing Thomas' story telling ability.
Ultimately what I'm looking for are bonding activities. Things to make them more comfortable with one another on a level other than platonic so that the sex stuff can come easier.
Thomas blows the professors' minds when he gives the world a run-down of post-mercantilism politics and economics. How to Capitalism, how not to Capitalism, why Communism and Fascism destroyed themselves on earth, why direct rule of two demi-goddesses is best government. His suave confidence gives Tali and Luna massive wing-boners.
They prank Blueblood after he does something rude.
Exposition: The Mane Six talk to Tali and Luna while Thomas is sleeping, and learn about him.
Thomas is long-distance-walking/running human relative to short-sprinting horse-people, and Tali can't let him beat her. After a long struggle, he beats her anyways, and out-marches the Royal Guard with his human stamina, making Shining Armor's jaw drop. He still can't sprint at 25 MPH like the other horse-people, though.
Tali makes Thomas sneeze when she's around him, and they need to find out why and make it stop.
3663801 All good, except for the running thing. Thomas had sexual stamina thanks to Luna's magic. He's still better than average, but he could never beat a pony in a physical competition.
Tali and Thomas could go fishing? Bond over a campfire with fish-on-a-stick?
Blueblood is an ass and gets Thomas injured so Tali steps up the pace on self-defense training?
Thomas's magic fingers preen Tavi and Luna?
Tavi has a birthday soon and Thomas gets her a present?
Luna uses dream magic and the group goes on a field-trip in Thomas's dreams/memories?
Luna uses the same magic she used on Thomas to make him into a pony and instead make him a griffon for a day?
Movie Night? Assuming this universe has movies.
3664120 Pretty sure you meant to say Tali instead of Tavi. I like most of those, but it may take a bit more work to expand upon them. However, and this is a major plot point for later, Equestria does not have movies... yet.

Oops.
I think a good bonding experience for Tali and Thomas would be them cooking. Seeing as they are both omnivores they could maybe decide to go cook and eat some meat. Then while they are cooking it gets creative and the next thing they know they have made a whole meal together. Then after they finish cooking and are eating said meal they slowly start getting closer to each other and the next thing you know they are doing the whole feeding each other. Then once the meal is over then they are in each others arms and look into each others eyes and then kiss each other.
Of course it does not have to happen right away. It could be like there 3rd, 4th, or 5th get together before they truly bond like that. It does not have to happen fast. Of course it could be anything that they bond over. They could maybe try out dancing and realize that they both like dancing. Really you could chose any activity and use it as a bonding point between Thomas and any of the characters.
I think that expanding the relationship between Thomas and Tali or really Thomas and everybody is a good move. Can not wait to see what happens.
3664764 Considering what's already been written, it's sad that I didn't think of this already. Thanks for the suggestion.
A good place to ask about stories with sword instruction sequences would be this group; "Bronies with Blades"
Mercedes Lackey's Heralds of Valdemar series often has smooth flowing segments with sword instruction since each trilogy usually starts her newbies out in intensive schooling to be a knight and cop in all but name. I would try finding Arrows of the Queen, or the entire Exile's trilogy in your local library.
(Beware, her stories of divine, sapient horses and their riders may be addicting... )
3667647 Found the group, but not the story you recommended. Good recommendation though.
3667829 Sorry for the confusion, I should have put the "Check your local library for..." before the recommedation for the series instead of after...
