I did it. Something You'd Regret is complete. Analysis and Postmortem. 100th Blog Post editon. · 3:16am Dec 15th, 2015

Something You'd Regret is complete. With no compromises. No shortening, and true to the original vision.

This story took way, way longer than it should have, especially showing how long it took to finish it once I got focused on it.

I suppose this was my first piece I not only experimented with Perspective Switch, but adding Character Perspective and Writing Perspective changes in the same story (Second-Current to Third-Past). It was so hard to keep straight at times that it actually hurt to edit the last few parts. Personally, I can't say I'm ever going to do that again. Going second-person perspective into an already established character was a mistake right from the beginning. I'm happy I went back and changed it all to third person, but I'm not sure if the resulting "Changes" really worked.

For example. We got to see Twilight carefully unravel the mystery in her head for what was actually going on. Meanwhile, we saw Anon go through his own transformation. By seeing Twilight's actions, we can see the hints and clues left in Anon's perspective by me. Meanwhile, the other bits and pieces I've scattered throughout the story that hinted towards the ultimate twist should now be pretty visible. I tried to work really hard at making tiny clues. Some might have been too subtle or too small, but they did become more apparent as you progress through the story.

When I sat down to write this ending, I knew I'd have to write something that my most read (first chapter) of work truly deserved. So I went out of my way to naturally try to tie up every loose end and leave with a bittersweet feeling that I love to write so much. And you know what? I'm happy with it. I know not everyone is going to like it, but I am. So, that's what matters to me.

Also, The Lyler story is up. Have fun with that.

Dash story going up on 21st

Man, you're too fast for me recently. I haven't even completely caught up on The Divorce yet. You are really making up for all the laziness of the first half of this year right now, I have to say. You have my retroactive apologies for all the needling I did on account of that. I can't wait to read the rest of this.

Disclaimer: I didn't actually read this blog, for fear of spoilers. I just wanted to have it be said.

Congrats you piece of refuse! I'll vomit in your honor sometime.

The epalogue was a bit dissapointing to me I was kinda hoping for a few months later type thing discribing how anon and twilight have been doing and if twi and anon got together how would they get past the whole love poison thing seeings as while twi and shining being family they would all be seeing each other for holidays (and future foal meetings). but other than that complaint it was a pretty good story

Any updates on Office Love? I would like to see that finished.

Wow man this is exactly why i love your writing so much! It has so much flavor and depth to it that its just a treat to read!

Damn gotta say though this ending had me at the edge of my seat. Truly the new tags give this fic much more justice than the sad one. Love me some bittersweet endings as well, though as with all good fics it leaves me wanting more xD

Wish we could have read about Anon's recovery and him slowly falling for Twi. Maybe a sequel? :pinkiesad2:

Regardless superb job as always Priest.

I likes the ending, not everything has to be a happy ending. Anon probably won't ever talk to Cadence again and Twilight will have to muster up being in the same room as her whenever they have some kind of Princess type stuff to do. Also I'm glad you didn't go the Chrysalis/changeling route that has been done to death with these type of stories, THANK YOU.

Fascinating history so far.
