I envy those writers who can knock out a 2000+ word chapter/story in a day like it's nothing. For me, it's just not that easy to even crack a thousand. I find it very difficult to work on a story unless something 'clicks'. Fortunately, that seems to have happened, and I can continue writing.
I guess that's partly because I use no prereader or editor. So I have to constantly check myself. That's fine by me. After all, if I can't even get through a simple one-shot without help, what right have I to call myself a writer (even of fanfic)? The downside is that it takes forever to get anything done because I don't have anyone to bounce ideas off of. But I get to say that every single word is my own. So… gotta take the good with the bad, I suppose.
"Sonata Dusk Eats A Burrito" has passed the minimum word requirement. It's not finished yet, but it's getting there. Provided I don't get distracted by life, I'm going to submit it tomorrow – at that point it's up to a mod as to when it'll actually appear on the site.
The Sunset Shimmer side of this story was much easier to write. Still, like every story I create, I've tried my hardest to make something enjoyable for people to read. I'm sure I'll have some author's notes for the story once it's posted.
I'm the same way. Most nights I'm lucky if I can get 1k words on a lengthier story, then there are those rare times where my hands move like wildfire and I get 3-4k.
