    Glimpses 2 - Now Complete

Though it was a day late, hopefully, it's not a dollar short. I've posted the final chapter of Glimpses 2! I hope everyone enjoys the last chapter and enjoyed the story as I whole. I would also like to thank everyone that submitted suggestions to my blog about a month ago. The anthology would not have been nearly as interesting without your input!

An Open Invitation for Halloween Story Editors · 5:03am Oct 28th, 2015

Real life can be interesting, especially when it sneaks up on you. I have been working on my story for Nightmare Night aka Halloween since about a week after I finished The Road Home. Was making good pace, thought I could make it before the holiday this year, even though the story has become multi-chapter in length. But for some reason, my brain decided not to account for the fact that my company's game, Nevermind, was an official nominee to Indiecade this year, which is like the Sundance festival for games. It was a really wonderful event, and I was happy to show off Nevermind with my coworkers to anyone that came by Culver City this past weekend.

Unfortunately, it took away some of the precious time I was going to work on my story.

Now, I'm working hard to have as much finished as possible before Halloween, but this crunch has left me without the time I usually take to send out requests and invitations to the pool of people who have pre-read and edited for me in the past. So, realizing I may be opening the floodgates onto myself, I'm going to extend an open public invitation.

If you have some grammar/editing experience, and have enjoyed my work in the past, I'd like to ask if you'd be interested in helping me prepare my latest story for publishing here on Fimfiction. Right now, the workload is two chapters, equaling ~12k words, that I would like to have edited in the next few days if at all possible. The story itself will likely range in the 5-6 chapter length, in total, with the additional chapters being posted in the days following Halloween. I'm looking for people who feel they can commit to helping with the entire story.

At the moment, I want to keep the premise a bit of a secret, but I will provide the following details. It is themed around some supernatural elements, in honor of the looming spooky holiday. It is set in the Equestria Girls world and the main character is going to be Sunset Shimmer. The rating is going to be teen, with no outright gore, mature content, or shipping. The title and description of the story will be available to those who show interest, and I'll provide link to my working google docs through PM.

With all that said, and not knowing exactly what kind of response I'll get, I hereby extend the invitation to all my followers who happened to read this blog post.

Would anyone be ever so gracious as to lend me his or her aid?

P.S. I'll post an update to this blog once all the available slots are filled.

[UPDATE]: The three slots have been filled at this time, but I will refer back to the comment section here if something comes up. Thank you again everyone for volunteering, and I hope you enjoy the story when it becomes publicly available in a few days.

Honestly, I'd freaking love to.

But I CAN

I kinda hope I fooled ya

Did I?

So, to be clear, that 12K is going to grow when the extra chapters come into play?

Edit: Only asking to be sure I know what's involved. As it stands though, I'd be honored to help.

You need editors?

I'd love to help out!

Yes, the first two chapters are ~4k and ~8k each, for a total of ~12k. Right now, I'm foreseeing a total of 5-6 chapters for the whole story. Based on my average chapter length, that means the story could extend to ~50k. I am not look for all that to be edited before Halloween. Just the first two chapters, but I would like the remaining ones to come out in the weeks following Halloween.

I could definitely help out.

Edit: To give out a bit more detail, I've pretty much been proofreading ever since the Past Sins book and have even done a bit of writing as a result of that.

3501957 Ah, ok. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't reading 50K in three days, lol.

But, if it's stretched out a bit like you said, I'd definitely have the time to help out! :)

/and I do have a good bit of editing and pre-read experience, to be clear.

I'd be interested in helping out. I have some experience with pre-reading and editing and I think I can contribute.

If the editor(s) in question can get through the first chapters quickly, I may add a third, but that one is already written and currently measures at ~7k words.

Whether I'm chosen or not, I'll add my voice in support of Winston. He's a very talented writer with a keen editing eye, and I'd recommend him to anyone looking for assistance with their own story.

Simple enough. I've been working on Chengar Qordath's projects for over three years as a grammar Nazi and plot-hole-finder, and I'd be happy to help out if you still want another set of eyes.

I'm a grammatical/spelling editor.

Do you still need people? Because if so, I can help. I love your work!

I am currently editing for two other authors and would love to edit your work. I am great with environmental and atmospheric setting and can easily notice when a character's actions do not match the pacing or when they act even slightly out of character and will ask that you justify why.

Hello there Pen, I'm a big fan of your work! I edit pony words in my spare time while editing for my school newspaper during the day hours. I have edited a total of 3 pony stories that I can show you links to if you so choose. I would be able to stay and edit the coming chapters as well as the ~12k pony words you have already published.

Sounds like a fun fic you got cooking.

Aww, all positions and backup positions are full, I guess that's what I get for sleeping. Oh well, I'll just wait 'till it's out to find some typos. ;)

Hey if you've still got a slot free, I have plenty of experience editing and pre reading, on this site and fanfiction. If you need a hand and still have a slot free I'm open to help out, doesn't matter length I'll get the job done.

Alas!

Oh well. Maybe next time.
