Bad Dragon

I write so that one day I may finally stop writing and be free, but these damn new ideas keep finding ways into my brain. I need to write more to vent them out!

I've fixed all my published stories · 3:56pm Oct 25th, 2015

Yesterday, I 'reread' all my stories. I found faults in all of them, despite being very thorough in the editing process for each of them prior to their publishing. I guess it just takes some time before one can recover from editing blindness.

Today, I've fixed all the mistakes I had spotted. All of my published stories are now a little better.

I presume I'll read my stories many more times in the available future. They resonate with me for some reason. How about you? Do you ever go back and read stories that you've already published? If you do, why do you do it?

Edit: I've finally figured out how to use Grammarly. I went back and fixed all my stories, yet again.

I do, a few of mine have mistakes I need to fix,

I do, to try and remember how it started and see better how it might end. Was horrified at the lack of quality in Autumn, and went to rewrite it..... and then lost all the files when my Laptop died horribly... hehe

I have, occasionally. I don't like to, in part because it artificially inflates my view count (to be clear, I'm not saying anything bad about anyone by this; I'm just OCD about trying to keep my view count tied as close as possible to other people reading my stuff).

I often find it painful to go back because each story's macro-issues jump out at me; i.e., the stuff that might require significant restructuring to fix. But it can also be good to go back, because I can revisit what I was thinking and feeling when I wrote the story, reflect on whether those thoughts and feelings still seem relevant to me, and see if there are any other lessons I can take from the experience of writing it.
