Oops! There Goes My Head-canon!

The official map of Equestria has been officially updated, and of course it has blown away some of my head-canon, especially as to the location of Griffonstone. That's the perils of fanfiction though.

I think I might have made use of the Griffish Isles if I'd known about them sooner.

Seems like a whole new western addition has risen out of the ocean too!

SMASH HEAD CANON! Or just fudge it and say the griffy lands are further east of Griffonstone. Also, Griffish Isles... does that mean Robin Hood was an Earth Pony who robbed from the rich, greedy Prince John Griffon?

I was actually already thinking of your version of the Griffon Lands just being the inland portion of that right continent. Griffonstone is pretty close to the shore, and seems more like a city state than an imperial capital or something.

I'm always going to stick to the headcanon map I made based off of this one. While I'm happy they made it canon that the Griffon kingdom is far east of Equestria, I really don't like the land they added attacked to the western coastline. It doesn't make sense.

Quite honestly, as awesome as this updated map is, it's not going to mess with my own headcanons at all. (Well, very, very minimally, anyway.)

Mainly because the majority of my stories are alternate universe ones, and I'm sticking to either the original official map for locations, or the ones that I'll be making myself for them.

I'll probably use this one eventually, though. It'll depend on the situation and circumstances.
