Cheerilee's viewpoint · 7:06am Sep 25th, 2015
Hello, everypony-er, everybody, I mean! Cheerilee here! You know, there has been a lot of controversy about this whole mess between Applejack and Cherries Jubilee recently. This debate has become a matter of heated discussion all over Dream Castle, and I have been frequently asked my opinion on this matter, and whose side I am on in this whole situation.
Look... I am the head teacher of Dream Valley's education system, and everyone here in the castle looks to me to educate their young colts and fillies, and prepare them for the future. Therefore, I must hold myself to a higher standard, staying above the petty arguments between the parents of my students. But this one seems to be a little closer to me, given that Applejack is from the same time period I'm from. And since I actually knew the original Applejack back in the past, and it seems like no one is going to let this question go.
Do I believe she is the real applejack? Sorry to tell the naysyaers, but that is the same AJ I knew from Ponyville. Now as to the accuracy of her stories... that, I really can't say. (Being trapped in a cursed book for a thousand years and all). But rest assured, I do indeed plan to research her fantastic claims, and draw a conclusion based on the facts. I am not going to take either mare's story at face value.
Now, as to which pony is morally right... oh dear. If you really want my opinion on this matter, neither of them is. I've only been watching this feud for a little while, and I have seen to of the nicest and sweetest mares you would ever meet descend to the level of spoiled and bratty children over which fruit should be grown! Apples or cherries! Apples or cherries! Apples or cherries! How can two grown ponies act like such immature brats?
Shortly after I first awoke, I was witness to Cherries Jubilee sneaking to much sugar into a batch of Applejack's cider to make it go bad, then AJ retaliating by taking all the lids off of Cherries's barrels of Cherry cola, causing it all to go flat. Next, Cherries followed up by sending all of Applejack's apple pickers a fake forged note from AJ, saying that she wanted them to pick her rival's cherries of the cherry trees that day, getting Miss Jubilee's work ahead, and setting apple picking back. Applejack followed this up by slipping something into all of Cherries's employees drinks, giving them all the trots.
This little prank war then escalated further, with cherries using a giant vacuum she stole from wind whistler's lab to suck all the apples off AJ's trees, then tossing the vacuum's bag full of the stolen apples into a bottomless abyss. Applejack followed that up by Stealing Twilight Shine's starlight lantern, and using it's magic to make all the cherries on Miss Jubilee's trees explode into a big gooey mess. And these stupid tricks only got worse as time went on.
The two hit their lowest, though, when they tried to influence Poesy's choices in allotting them space for their orchards in the royal gardens. Cherries's tried to bribe Baby Poesy with candy and sweets to get her mom to give the cherry trees an extra acre. And Applejack painted her coat white and pretended to be a ghost, trying to scare the poor little filly into giving her the extra acre. That's right, my dear friend Applejack tried to scare a little three year old filly into getting what she wanted... traumatizing the poor child, and giving her nightmares. I almost had a smile of satisfaction when mama Posey gave that silly pony a good thrashing on the flank with the vines she could control.
So I need to ask- how is that any better that Cherries's despicable act in turning Baby Applejack against her mother? As an educator of foals who loves her little students dearly, how can you possibly ask me to see Applejack as the victim here? In truth, both of this mares are spoiled, bratty children who should know better- fighting over which fruit is better like two fillies fighting over a doll on the playground. Just before this incident, Applejack tricked Tex and Steamer into cutting down several cherry trees from Cherries's orchard, and now Cherries had topped off this little stunt with the present controversy we are now dealing with.
So no, I do not believe ether side is justified in this whole fruit far, and I believe it is high time these two mares finally settle their differences, once and for all! If they are allowed to continue this pointless bickering, who knows how many ponies could get hurt!
