New Five Star Service chapter nearly ready... · 2:41am Aug 31st, 2015
Awaiting a couple more prereads before posting. Be advised that the tone of this chapter is going to be... different. Expect it to be somewhat somber, in part a reflection of my current mood, in part planned for this point in the story... and in part a response to a very unexpected letter Five Stars receives.
Leo Archon, my partner in crime and co-writer for Turnabout Storm, The Lawyer and the Unicorn, and Before the Storm: The Rise of Firefly, recently started reading Five Star Service after never having set foot in the Gentlemanverse before. I'm pleased to say he liked it, and then took it upon himself to write a letter from one of the early characters to Five Stars. Unexpected, but quite welcome, as he has rather neatly addressed an old plot thread, one I that had always bugged me for not quite knowing what to do with it. In fact, I wasn't going to address it at all until I saw his letter, which I've then answered in the new chapter as Five Stars.
I'd like to thank him for his contribution here, and welcome him into the fold. We work together well, and my stories have been all the better for his help. As such, you are all invited to check out his stories, which include a superb entry to the "Bad End" contest of Turnabout Storm, and Pony Fantasy IV. He's an excellent author in his own right, with a penchant for crossovers and a particular talent for scenes and dialog. So please give him a look and some love.
Look for the new chapter in the next couple days. And everyone should be happy to know that the long-awaited opening of the portal and coming of humanity will be in the chapter after this one.
