Look, I know this is a really old comment, probably making me look like an idiot, but... when I saw this, I had to reply.

If a train leaves Canterlot at 8:15 am, travelling at 35 mph, and Applejack sells 5 bushels of apples to Fluttershy, who then sells 3 bushels to Rainbow Dash, 1 bushel to Twilight, and no bushels to Rarity, at what time would Princess Celestia raise the sun on the 32nd of November?

The train leaves at 8:15 and travels at 35 mph. Ignoring the acceleration needed to get to 35 mph and assuming there are no obstacles along the way, at 9:15 the train should have traveled 35 miles. Assuming the train tracks are perfectly straight and there are no changes in any direction, the train will be 35 miles from the train station as well. But since Canterlot is on the side of a mountain, this is most likely impossible. However if magic is involved, then there are too many variables to truly solve this part of the problem. Having said that, the train should not have any effect on what time Celestia raises the sun, if it does, then something is really important about that train. The bushels of apples are divided among 5 of the Mane 6. Applejack has lots of bushels of apples, since she is an apple farmer for Sweet Apple Acres, the largest apple farm in Equestria, and it would be illogical to think that she only has 5 bushels of apples. So Applejack has x-5 bushels of apples, where x is her starting amount and x>5. Fluttershy was the one to buy those 5 bushels. Rainbow Dash then bought 3 of those bushels from Fluttershy, Twilight bought one of those bushels. and Rarity was sold none. 5-3-1=1. That final bushel now has a mystery owner. IF each character obtained possession through the process of buying, meaning there is no stealing, borrowing, giving, etc... only buying, We can rule out Rarity, since it states she bought none, Twilight, since the problem states she only was sold 1, Rainbow Dash, because she only bought 3, and Applejack, since it would be illogical to sell something to someone and then immediately buy it back. We can assume that Fluttershy no longer has it, because due to her being the Element of Kindness, she would not refuse to sell to Rarity at least some of the bushel, unless she absolutely needed it all. We could also assume that Pinkie Pie has it, due to her absence from the equation when the rest of the Mane 6 were included, as she could of bought it; it was just not specified in the problem. However, if one were to include any other method of obtaining the bushel of apples, such as giving, stealing, or borrowing, then there are too many unknown variables to determine any kind of clue towards the mystery owner. As with the train, this should not affect what time Celestia raises the sun, unless the train and the bushels together are very important, to the point that Celestia had to alter her schudule for raising the sun, which in of itself, is very unlikely and illogical to think. Finally, since we know that neither the train nor the bushels of apple affect when Celestia raises the sun, Celestia should raise it at the same time she does everyday, unless if something really big happened, whether that something is good or bad is up for debate. But since it says "on the 32nd of November", where if we assume the world Equestria is on is based on Earth, and therefore have the same calendar, then there is no 32nd of November, because November only ever has 30 days in its time-span. As such, the entire question is now useless, because there is no answer, based on probable assumptions. However, if these assumptions turn out to be wrong, then all of this could be wrong.
