That's right! The Admiral is holding a contest!

This picture has nothing to do with it, but it's hilarious.

The most important thing to any would-be contestant is, of course, "what do I win?"

Well, let me tell you.

Nothing.

I mean, I can promise you that I'll read it, and I'll upvote it and favorite it, but that's about all. I'll probably promote it on a blog post, but that's pretty much it. Fame and glory won't be yours; you won't get to drive off into the sunset in a brand new convertible.

and if you know what movie that's from....

Well, since I've done such a good job selling it, I ought to tell you what the contest is. It's simple. Write a story based on this picture.

Two possible themes are as follows:

Well, that'd be a novel way to get to Equestria. Get beaned in the head by a horseshoe, and wake up in the Ponyville hospital with a nasty concussion.
Actually, there's probably the potential for a "There's no I in Equestra" joke, too.

I was picturing a senior who moved into the residence of the most recently-deceased member of a retirement community. And hidden in the apartment is a little gold-and-silver lower-case 'i', taped to the cover of an appointment book, with the next and never-to-be-met scheduled something or other set for the horseshoe field one week from move-in, exactly at sunset. By which time, our senior is more than bored enough with community life to wander out there and see what was so important that it had to be hidden away...

But of course no need to limit yourself!

They didn't spell Equestria right on that sign!:raritydespair:

Arr, there be no I because that's part of the hook!

See, matey, you need to add he "I" to be transported. Otherwise, they be just ordinary horseshoe pits.

I forget the actual name of that movie, but it's the sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Because the first one wasn't weird enough...

Yes! You win!

It's called Shock Treatment.

What do I win?

*Bzzzzt!*

Ow! What is this, actual shock therapy?

*Bzzzzt!*

Ow! What do I even need therapy for?

*Bzzzzt!*

Ow! Nooooo...! It's just like the movie!

*Bzzzzt!*

My tact: Wandering around the grounds, you duck just in time not to get in the head with a horse-shoe.

You hear a scratchy alto behind you, yelling "Fore!" well after the shoe has met the ground.
As you turn around to berate her, you hear another voice, with a tennesean accent berating her for you.

Et c. Et c. Applejack and Rainbow were playing horseshoes again, and somehow warped into our world.

"Madness?" Raven shouted. "This is Equestra!"

She turned and gave the minotaur diplomat a buck to the stomach, toppling him into the dreaded horseshoe pit.

one step ahead of you

“To turn away a diplomat for their unwillingness to play such a barbaric game is madness.” The minotaur was growing even more nervous and began breathing heavily.

A lone cloud drifted over the sun, darkening the field of battle. Looking closely, he could see a pegasus sitting atop it, a bloodthirsty smile on her face.

“Madness?” Raven responded with dangerous calmness.

“...This Is Equestra!” Raven shouted as she bucked the minotaur in the stomach.

Time slowed as the minotaur lost his balance and fell backwards. The minotaur watched as Raven turned around to see her hoofwork. Far, he fell; the bottom of the pit growing nearer. He stared up at the sky and wondered how many other diplomats met this same tragic fate.

The sun shone brightly in his eyes as he hit the sand covered bottom, just missing the metal spike in the center.

3340181 No Points, my lord. Your predecessor managed to spear the last diplomat through the arm.

Damn. I suppose there's always the next belligerent envoy.

We don't win anything? Not even a cookie ? :applecry:
Oh well, this view should count for something at least!
