An honest question · 5:41pm Aug 17th, 2015
Hey all, so writing is coming along. Expect Whittler chapter in a couple days, just doing some finishing touches.
I do have a question though, for those who actually take the time to read my blogs. Recently I've been getting back into doing speed fics with some friends, and just a few days ago I posted one of them into my compiled speed fic, well, fic. The lack of activity has really shocked me on it. Granted, I don't expect everyone to go crazy over my work, but with over 2k followers... well, I'd expect at least something.
So, the question.
Do readers (aka, you guys) prefer to see completed fics like that as on massive story, or is it better to have them be separate fic posts on their own? I had thought the former would be better, but I've had a few people tell me otherwise.
This is under your story's stats.
As you can see, only 23 people favorited it, so that might explain why it didn't get the response you wanted. Also, only those who have the story favorited get updated that you updated the story. Your 2900+ followers were not notified.

Ah. So maybe then I should just start posting them as separate stories then. It's amazing how fimfic ignorant I am, thanks Abyss.
3326626 That or post a blog about it whenever you post a chapter. That will get some attention.
3326626 Yeah.
Get on the ball, man.
Some prefer shorts, some prefer full stories. Some dont mind both provided its engaging.

I think it's better if you post them as separate stories if these are short.
Well, I've honestly just started following you. But... in general anyway, I don't really care for the compilation-of-stories stories. Judging a book solely by its cover, those types of compilation fics (to me anyway) just look like a compilation of leftovers. Not really the most attractive thing to click on if I'm looking for something good to read. I'm speaking in general, of course, lots of peeps around here have compilation fics and I have not read yours. I'm willing to bet many other readers share my sentiments.
Also, more in the realm of statistics and facts, your compilation fic has like no real amount of views. Your massive hordes of followers are only ever notified when you post a new fic, and never notified when you post new chapters to an already-published fic. Unless, of course, they fav'd it. Given that it
floppedhasn't been wildly popular, posting new updates on it will only be able to garner new attention by spending time on the front page in the Latest Updates box. So basically, you might as well be posting those updates with a smurf account.Statistically then, for you, it would be most opportune to post new individual stories.
I cannot believe I'm giving you of all people advice on how to be popular around here. But if you want your compilation fic to do better, the most important things are: Title, description, cover art, 1st chapter, and to post an update on a day and time when very few other stories are being updated, and when as many users as possible are online.

Believe it or not, I'm not really up to date on how things work with Fimfic. For instance I hadn't known that when I update a story only people who follow the specific fic get notifications. I just write and post horse words, I ain't into all that technological what's it's of how the site is ran, so I'm learning.
I like both: complicated and light stories. To me, it is good, that story had human, romance, some clop, no crossovers, no anthro. It is important, that it had human, that is why i am reading your fic. I would like to have everything i one story. I hate when stories have many continuation in difrent fics. I prefer all in one fic. No sequel, just one story from begining to the end without unanswered questions. There is a good fic "Savage" on fimfiction, and i can't stand that author had broken it to 2 fics. But it is still good so i will read it anyway.
If fic is good, there would be readers. I just want all story in one fic as my own personal preference.
