A new project, and an explanation!

    Hey folks,

Alternate title for this blog post: I'm Doing a Thing (and I'm looking for help)

I don't think anyone is surprised that my pony writing has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while, and my presence on this site is mostly to lurk-and-read rather than finish my long-delayed stories. What you might not know, though, is what I've been doing instead of pony writing.

New story! Incredible Dramatic Reading! Exclamation points! · 1:31pm Aug 16th, 2015

Hey folks,

Leading off with a brand new, long-form epic adventure story. I am very pleased to present Land of the Blind, the greatly extended version of the April Writeoff Competition:

Land of the Blind

Queen Platinum is dying.

She is cursed, and every day she grows weaker. If she dies, the kingdom will collapse, and the three tribes will once again fragment. Centuries of unity and harmony will come to an end.

There is only one thing that might cure her – a mystical, half-forgotten potion known as the Panacea. It can cure any curse, any disease, any poison. But all magic has its price, and the greater the magic, the greater the sacrifice it requires.

Prince Hyperion will do anything to save his mother. He will find the Panacea, regardless of the cost.

Even if he isn't the one who must pay it.

I haven't written an epic adventure like this since The Wind Thief. I know lots of people are waiting for that sequel, but until it arrives, I hope you'll find this story an adequate substitute. I'll be posting new chapters over the next few days, so be sure to favorite it now.

On another note, some of you probably already know the amazingly talented Illya Leonov, who does some of the best dramatic readings of fics in the fandom. Well, he recently did something amazing, a fully casted reading of my comedy National Geographic Presents: Big Princess Week. In addition to himself, he has:

- Neighrator Pony as the National Geographic Narrator
- Scribbler as Twilight Sparkle
- IMSadow007 as Celestia
- Caitbug as Spike

Does that sound amazing? It should. Neighrator Pony does an incredible rendition of every documentary narrator you've ever heard, and listening to Scribbler, IMSadow007 and Caitbug has me wishing I'd put more dialogue in for them to read. This whole thing is delicious to listen to. Don't take my word for it, though; give it a listen!

Great start! Looking forward to see where you take this!

That reading is hugely funny. The nature document narrator voice is pitch-perfect, and the Twilight voice is wonderfully chipper and neurotic.
