Where to next? · 2:19pm Jul 24th, 2015

I decided, for once, I'd let the community decide, or at least help decide.

Where should this fanfic go next? There are plenty of possibilities. If you aren't aware, we're talking about Tarnished Silver and Clouded Diamonds, which has developed quite nicely so far, IMHO.

Silver Spoon is learning to embrace her new spirituality, while Diamond Tiara has shown some real business acumen, and demonstrated how horribly deadly she can get when she feels desperate. They're in Viljatown, and things are fairly relaxed for them.

Does adventure come rushing to them? Do they go out in pursuit of it? Disaster?!

Flood me with ideas!

Perhaps this might be a good time to play up that little revelation that was introduced late in the previous fic: that Queen Iliana was sick.

We know, from Sunflower mentioning the year, that the Queen isn't going to pass away just yet...but even so, the fact that something's wrong with her - and that she has Adagio Dazzle as a confidant (though most likely not a trusted one) - is something that could be tied into this story fairly closely. After all, as Pinkie noted, the "Queenie" could send them all back to Equestria.

I am thinking a quest with a bit of life threating adventure. DT needs a good reality call to get her on the right track of life.

I'm really trying to read this, but that duo is really neutral to me. :raritydespair: You're one of the active writers I read.

3265545 Diamond Tiara uses her business skills to get the imperial commission to cure the queen -- and now her contractor, Silver Spoon, needs to gain as many levels as it takes to be able to cast a series of spells that might possibly do the trick before the queen dies!

It ends with her casting Miracle and Luminance saying 'no!' because Illiana has too many overdue library books.

There was at least one major plot thread from the original story I would love to see followed up, but this group has even less motivation to track down Lashtada's book than the first one, and they had her only oracle in the party.

Frankly, It'd be interesting to see how much of this city's economy Diamond could control before it blew up in her face or they find a way home.

Or speaking of lost goddesses, maybe they could end up in Viljatown's underdark and stumble across one of Soft Whisper's artifacts, though what would get them down there is the question.

I agree with Alzrius, terrycloth and Spiritus Arcane: You should tie them into the existing plot and Everglow lore that is happening all around them. It would be especially interesting if they can change things in some meaningful way.

In the stock Everglow timeline, it's not too long before Iliana dies and everything goes to Tartarus, but what good is introducing Everglow to the plane of friendship, if they can't get a little help? Iliana's had her fun, so even if they try to cure her, she probably shouldn't live too much longer. However, all of her Equestrian friends should be able to set up a more stable succession for her. (Not an Equestrian, an Everglowian with Equestrian allies.)

There are a whole bunch of plot lines that you dropped in the previous stories that we would be very interested to see resolved:
-Lashtada's book
-The Short Legs (your published material on the Short Legs suggests that the short leg genes are dominant, thus one of them is enough to repopulate the species)
-The other two sirens
-The creepy sanitarium of death (It's pretty far from the current story, but they might end up there later)

Also according to the stock Everglow timeline, this is near to the time that Prisma is founded. That might be fun to see.

While I'm at it, I'll tack on my usual request to see Fast Shadow actually go on a quest.

(Are you getting bored, David?)

3266203 Tired of writing? Don't care if it keeps going or not? I may be misinterpreting the evidence, but you seem a little...frustrated.

3266279 I wrote two 2k updates, and a bunch on Waves of Change and ANOTHER SUPER SECRET COLLAB.

What more do you want from me?

3266363 That's not what I mean. Are you having fun?

I'd just like to see more, I just finally binge-read all your Everglow series in a week and now its at a standstill plotwise, I would love to know what happens next. You're amazingly talented and its refreshing to have a series address heavy issues with realistic character growth, honestly its the most entertained I've been on fimfiction in a while. Well I'll be off to devour your other stories with a Luminace-given hunger :)
Hope to see more,

4106662 I can't promise I'll push this one, but thanks for reading!

4106664
Either way, I understand how fickle the muses can be after all, and no thanks are needed for such an enjoyable literary jaunt :)

4106671 Just checking, you started at the start? (A Dangerous Sparkle)

4106673
Actually I started with the prequel (Everglow of a Twilight Sunset) and read it as it was posted, then I saw that there was more and kept right on to a Dangerous Sparkle lol I've been going on and on to my wife about how good it is for days, she's new to ponies but getting into it like I got into homestuck for her, but she's a bit more daunted by the chapter count than I was. Then again I was the girl who finished Harry Potter books in one sitting when I was younger so it didnt occur to me that the length would be scary XD

4106896 It's true. there are a lot of words, but you shouldn't look at them all together. Each chapter is bite sized and ready to go. Just do one when you have time, then do another. No time? Pause, we'll wait.

4106963
That's pretty much how I view it, she's got a bit busier schedule than me though and I read faster lol I'm sure I'll get her to take a crack at it eventually, neither of us can resist good fanfic or DND. Hell thats kinda how we got to know eachother in the first place, so much for the forever-single DND nerd stereotype eh? :)

4107204 We have DnD, Ponies, adventure, and sometimes romance.
