A letter, long buried in the archives of the Dream Valley library, has finally resurfaced. It is a message from Princess Cadence, from a few weeks from after the end of the Grogar Wars. I asked Tornado to translate it into english, and... it is not something that I am proud to present, but I understand why she did it...
Queen Majesty,
I know my request may sound unusual, but trust me, it is for the best. No, I am not crazy, no I have not lost my mind. After all of the tragedy Ponyland has endured, what you are about to do will be done for the best of all of ponydom. Before the book finally closes on the world of Equestria, there is one more step that must be taken. Please, if you have any affection or respect for this old and worn mare, please heed the last request of my mind before Grogar's curse corrodes my mind completely.
What you heard from me in my last message was correct- I want you to use the power golden crown, and wipe out the memory of Equestria from all of Ponyland. Send a magic wave across all of Ponyland, and flush our memories- mine, Applejack's and even Spike's memories of the days of Equestria- wherever he may be . Erase every record, every history book, every tome that contains any information on Equestria. All the spells our mages wrote, every fact and figure and detail committed to paper or memory... wipe it all. Leave and trace in either the confederacy or New Equestria.
There are exceptions, of course. Your Kingdom's history, the Flutter Pony's histories, the sea ponies.... they will be important for the generations to come. The horsemasterist version of history, I know you will refuse to erase that... it is just as well. Let Bezekre's worldview become the view they believe in. Leave only a vague and blurry vision of Equestria in pony's memories- the larger than life tales of Princess Twilight and her round table of harmony bearers, of the wise princess Celestia in her castle of Canterlot- let that be how they remember us without fault or blemish.
Let them believe that Twilight Sparkle visited the human world, that she and her friends traveled Equestria and solved friendship problems, let them believe Tirek was an ancient magic-stealing foe my aunts defeated, and not a pony driven mad by the rainbow of darkness. Let them see all of us, even those of us who lived through those events, believe we were all perfect little characters, like drawings on a little foal's cartoon. Let our faults, our mistakes, and our failings be interred with our bones. Only the fairy tales- shadows of the true ponies we were- will remain.
This world belongs to your goddess now, Majesty. We alicorns... our time is over. Ponydom has no room for love in thier hearts any longer, so my special talents are no longer needed. The tree of Harmony, Aunt Celestia, Aunt Luna, Twilight.. they are all gone now. And soon, the last alicorn will follow them into oblivion. For I have decided that when you create the great magic, I shall divest myself of my alicorn magic, and shall simply devolve into a winged unicorn- a rare creature in this world that can still live for a millennia, but one as mortal as you as you or your subjects. When my power is gone, alicorn magic will be gone forever, and friendship shall never again be magic.
Please Majesty, close the book on our sad story, and let the new age begin with a fresh start. Let the new world look ahead to the future, and not see the mournful tears of the last alicorn...

I think what the Ambassador and the Shepard are trying to say, is why was the history changed or erased. You have to understand that the one thing we take very seriously in New Home is out history. We lost much of it during the Great Exodus, the Age of Chaos, and the Fire of Xenophon, every little scrap left is precious. Even as the tales become myth and legend, the records are still in Haven and Canterlot.
To purposely erase history is unthinkable.

A mistake, I understand wanting to create legends to inspire the furture. However, Cadance should not have done this, without a past a people cannot look forwards.
