It has been over a year since my last chapter was put up.
Does that make me a bad person?
*ducks and cowers from the loud, resounding confirmations*
What if I just posted another chapter and took my fic off its hiatus status? Still a bad guy?
*ducks thrown objects*
Tough crowd! But not really. It's all very well deserved. This chapter took a lot out of me. I went through mind blanks, writer's block, 6 month delays from work, family troubles. It just took everything I had to stay aboard this train and keep chugging down these rails. There were several times I near ended the fic due to the extensive delays.
As you can see, I have persevered! And I shall continue to do so! This I promise. What I can't promise, apparently, is the finale. I promised that last time, and it's a broken one, shattered to pieces. I thought I could be done. I was wrong.
This time I make no such promise. It 'should' be the last chapter outside of the epilogue,, but my lesson has been learned. I promise you nothing. No set time frame, no chapter content, nothing at all. The only thing I promise is it will continue until completion.
And I hope you'll stick by me until then.

If I can advise you any anything at all, just don't sweat it. As far as I have noticed the community accepts our delays as long as we return with quality reading. No matter how antsy the readers get, they'll love your content no matter when you post it.
Regardless of how long you take, I'll be happy with quality reading. So don't give up, write to your content. There are plenty of us who aren't throwing stuff at you.
Plus there's entire trucks worth of other reading on this site to keep me busy.

I can empathize, and also say I am inspired by your ability to rise up past the obstacles, and continue with your story... and what an awesome story that it is shaping up to be. This is why I added it to my Best of the Best shelf. It is simply an outstanding tale.
