Hey all!
Shokinaw here, doing my thing. The next chapter is...not even close to being ready, but I do have a fair bit written so far. Seems like it's going to be a very lengthy one, probably the longest to date. Last time, people thought I died, fell off the face of the Earth, up and quit, and what have you. I do have a tendency to go quiet until I have new pictures I wish to bring attention to, or new chapters to post, so it's hard to blame my readers for getting antsy. This time, I'm gonna try something new, and update my blog as more progress is made, savvy?

However, the outline progress may be a bit spoiler-ish, though I'm going to try to avoid them. Maybe consider them teasers? If they're too telling, jsut let me know and I'll find another way to describe them.

Another project I have in the background is offering my editing talents to PoC in his collaboration chapter of Twelve Pleasured Mares. This really isn't my kind of thing as Cloud well knows. The whole concept irks me big time, but alas! I will not abandon a friend in need. Together, I hope we added a bit more maturity to what is basically a 'clop for the sake of clop' fic. Overall I think the chapter turned out as well as could be hoped considering the foundation.
(This isn't a slight against those of you that have been enjoying the fic, it's just really not my cup of tea, I'm sure you understand. Purely personal opinion.)
In other news, I have been without ability to write over the weekend due to poor organizational skills. So I did up a sketch instead.
Someday colour! Someday you will be mine to add when and where i wish once more! And upon that day... hmmhmmhmmm, heheheheee, hahahahaaah! HAHHAHH! BWAHHAHAHAHA!
Ahem.
I've also finally fully caught up with the show. I've been falling behind for awhile now. I tend to enjoy things in bulk, and I was not disappointed in doing so this time. and what an episode to catch up on!

Ponies have ice arrows?! Srsly?!
That is gonna make my next epic story idea make so much more sense than it was going to! Also Spike rained fire on an ice cloud. Cringeworthy improv songs aside, that was still pretty slick.
I still stand by my point that he HAS performed in front of thousands of ponies before during the Christmas episode, so stage fright really shouldn't be a thing here. But the moral was phenomenal, and deserves recognition. What better character to deliver it than the one they turned into a sidekick too?
*tips hat to writers*
And yet more evidence towards my theories of Spike's amazing counting skills! They gave us a sniff at it in 'Spike at your service' and his ability to count blades of grass, and now he might be making a very accurate estimated count of the number of ponies in attendance. Makes me wonder if he really can. Nifty abilities like that are a creative writer's dream to work with.
Then there was also him taking pride in carrying the luggage. That was a good idea. It means he probably insisted during their little trip to Manehatten, which is a very 'Spike' thing to do.
And world studies to boot!

5x Noble families. Blueblood is a Prince, so perhaps the others are similar in station? More princes and princesses perhaps? Ponderings and more ponderings!
This one episode offered more knowledge about the world than any other episode so far. That's pretty sweet!

Yay, Progress Report!
I liked the episode a lot, but it is a shame we didn't see more of the Equestria Games with all the hype for it they did through the season.

Hrm, I guess. I wouldn't call it that much hype, mind. Foreshadowing that they were coming shouldn't be considerd hype, and that's all they were really doing. It was more of a season theme than anything. Basically it just gave them something for Rainbow Dash to do.It was good to see them acknowledge Spike's part to play in things though, especially after they didn't bother to invite him with the others at the end of last season.
But man! All the stuff they added! Enchanted items, magic weaponry, magic negation, i mean, really, these are pretty huge things to just throw in there. I appreciate that very much.

I wish they had thrown more into the games and not into Spike, as much as I love Spike... and yeah, you write a lot of words, don'tcha?

I'm not sure. I prefer story structure over random events on the timeline. I'll admit, focusing on Spike skipping the games wasn't a great idea, but it's impossible to write a half hour episode while incorporating all the games that would be going on at the pony Olympics. Such an episode would probably wind up being too clustered to portray the main focus of MLP, which is the characters themselves.
Maybe if they were saving the games for the usual hour long finale they have at the end of a season they could give it the focus you guys desire but in a half an hour episode? Not bloody likely.
- Also, yeah, I do write lots of words Fury, mostly because of Snails. That boy just doesn't know when to stop!

I agree! However, that's not their decision to make unfortunately. Producers get to decide when and where such things take place, and they go purely by the marketing division.
Alas it was just not meant to be. However it does give introduction to some very new, very important poinies. perhaps they'll use it in the next episodes.Besides, we'll always be unhappy with an episode if we focus on what could have been. I prefer to see it as it was: A perfectly enjoyable episode with a song that sounded like nails against chalkboards.
