I spotted something in this latest episode which fits nicely with my headcanon that Dinky is the child of Derpy and Doctor Whooves.

The inset is just minutes earlier in the scene where Dinky rushes into the donut shop. So we see Dinky both in the present-day scene and the flashback to Twilight's science class!

There's a conspiracy afoot. Doctors and Dinky's are the cause, fan-fiction required to fill this gap in time, lest the world be thrown into chaos by the curse of the seven background Trixies. if that make's sense.

Jokes aside, background ponies defy time and logic all the time, but Dinky makes more sense then Carrot Top appearing seven times on a merry-go-round.

DHX has only a little over an hundred FlashPuppets, so has to reuse them. This episode had a clever reuse:

Roseluck became a unicorn, but with rosequartz as her cutiemark. DHX kept the rose theme going.

On a more serious note, Starlight Glimmer stalks Twilight Sparkle. In the restaurant, she is in the upper left, spying on Twilight Sparkle. I am certain that Starlight Glimmer does not plan something nefarious for Twilight Sparkle and her friends.

Moon Dancer fell apart despite 4 of her 5 friends going to her birthdayparty. I suspect that she had a crush on Twilight. ¡Lesbian Horses!:

Babs Seed gets a cutiemark in scissoring (I am certain that the other CutieMarkCrusaders will try to get a cutiemark for scissoring too), Bon "Secret Special Agent Sweetie Drops" Bon and Lyra Heartstrings are Best Friends with Benefits, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy kiss onscreen in a Canterlot-Wedding Part # 2, Moon Dancer had a crush on Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy wants to be a tree and is friends with Tree Hugger:

Unfortunately, as somepony writing in the universe of Fallout Equestria, you know that she will regret saying that she wants to be a tree because killing joke will turn her into a tree and make her watch Equestria die over the course of 2 centuries.

It wouldn't have been hard to alter Dinky's color to not make her look like a time traveller... unless they wanted to... make her look like a time traveller!

Starlight Glimmer stalks Twilight Sparkle

Ooooh, that sneaky, sneaky meanie-pants. She's up to no good, you can just tell.

Moon Dancer fell apart despite 4 of her 5 friends going to her birthdayparty.

Yeah, it does seem rather odd that she was that affected. Clearly, it meant a lot that her fellow nerd show up to the party. Makes sense I suppose, since we see them studying together. Twilight was the only friend she probably related to.

What I found interesting in following the tone of the episode, was that Twilight seemed to be overreacting about how crushed her friends would be, and then when we find out that ~~Colgate~~ Minuette was sooooo okay with things (seriously, Minuette is probably my favorite pony for a little while), it really underscored the whole "Twilight is just overreacting again" tone. And then the whole thing gets flipped upside-down with Moon Dancer actually having been crushed by what Twilight did... I have to say, the show did a good job making it not so predictable. That's always a pleasant surprise.

Ugh, yes. I do have to admit, I am less than thrilled about the fates of all of the main cast of the show by the end of Fo:E. When it comes to the sequel, with all of Nyxie's friends and family long dead, I really wonder how she will react. Even stranger is how will Dinky react to finding out that her mother is still alive?!! And what she looks like!!!

Dinky could be the true master of fate, she is always there making sure Twilight Sparkle fulfils her destiny. It's no coincidence that she lives in Ponyville as well, it's a hub of destiny and a spider must maintain its web
