Alright, it's time for a shift of tone.
I had a pretty long chat with Duvet yesterday, and we decided that chapter eleven really does need a thorough rework from the 2018 version. This is the last of what I'd call my "weak writing". Chapters 12-21 are pretty much perfect, so if I can fix 11, this is going to mean great things for the story.
Chapter 11 is where our heroes meet the platoon they will be traveling with, per Luna's arrangements. I won't get into the details, as you can see those for yourself soon enough. But I wanted to mention that there's a new character in the works. Sergeant A.Pone.

This guy won't be a really big character in the rest of the story, but he's there and will be playing a part in the upcoming adventure. The main question is... Can I write him effectively? I've been experimenting tonight with the style, and it's really different from how everyone else talks. It seems to be coming along nicely, though again, I can't be doing too much of this. It's really challenging to write properly.
If I can't make it work with Apone's style from Aliens, I'll just fall back and write a generic sergeant. We'll see...
