Well, that was... odd. Not in the way that "Slice of Life" was odd, but odd nevertheless. A new writer (Nick Confalone) seemed to throw a lot of ideas at a wall and wait to see which ones stuck, then when none of them fell off he said, "Stuff it, I'll use the lot" -- and did just that. I liked seeing Twilight do something she hasn't done for a while (and I mostly believed why she was doing it, too). I thought Pinkie was interesting in this, though some of the other Mane Sixers felt a little off. Random Cherry Jubilee appearance was random. Also, another multi-person writing team, and another ep where that didn't quite come off. The pacing wasn't quite right, for one thing; that seems to happen a fair bit when more than one person is involved in writing an episode. ★★★ (just, if only for the ponified Beatles thing)
No, there was definitely a "no declare war" at the end there. Still, this episode seemed to be largely from the mind of Pinkie, which really explains a lot.
3187855 Ah, I must have missed that; thanks. Editing time! But still, the rest stands, I think.
