Equinophobia and Its Sequel(s) · 10:46pm Jun 1st, 2015
"Sequels" spelled with parenthesis because of what I'm here to say.
I've mentioned on multiple occasions that Equinophobia will indeed get a sequel as well as at least one what-if story, one of which is already out, Equinophobia: Silvery Lies. Firstly, I'm going to talk about that story in particular.
Although I originally considered Silvery Lies as a simple bonus story that I wanted to write, I see it's becoming more than the what-if tale it started as. The story in itself is a sequel to the original story. Not directly, as it still diverges from the main storyline, but it does many things the original couldn't. For instance, the characters get more development, specifically Celestia and Ryan. While Celestia learns her lesson in the hard way that a lot of readers wanted to see, Ryan gets shown off in a completely new light. Instead of constantly on edge because of horses, we get to see her when she's calmed down and interacting with others. Basically, her normal personality. Beyond developing characters, Silvery Lies simply offers more perspectives and expands upon old ones throughout its course.
So that's why I'm considering it as a sequel as well as a what-if story. If you wanted more of Equinophobia, then I recommend reading it and not to be put off by the "what-if scenario" label. But do be prepared for a somewhat darker storyline.
That all said, I have to mention the sequel I already had planned. I never mentioned what it would be about, so I'll tell you. Simply, Ryan's friends from Equestria would go visit her on Earth to see what her life was like among humans. Much like how Ryan transformed into a pony, they would be human when out in public (what could possibly go wrong?). However, I still don't have any strong ideas for it, and it'll still be a bit before it ever gets released. I do plan to write it, but I have no storyline for it other than a few vague ideas like the inevitability that they'll all get arrested. Still, it'll come eventually.
While I'm at it, I'll mention the second what-if story for Equinophobia, the one where Ryan gets sent to Fallout: Equestria instead.
...Don't hold your breath because I have no guarantees on that ever coming out.
That's all. Long story short, I recommend reading Silvery Lies despite it being a what-if scenario because it might as well be a sequel, and the actual sequel will come eventually. For now, I'm sticking to Silvery Lies as well as a few other stories you may know.
I thank you all!

An original idea, executed well, now continued.
Did Ryan keep her ability to turn into a pony that she got from discord? Just curious.
3116468 in Silvery Lies she went full pony, no more temporary about it.
3119555 I was kinda meaning the main storyline. But that does raise the question of if Celestia cast a new spell to turn her into a pony or simply used the one discord placed on her. Because if its the latter it means that she technically can return to her human form she just can't remember that she HAS a human form. And its kinda hard to use something if you can't even remember having it.
3119584 true enough. Maybe eLLen can weave that in? After all, a distinct possibility exists that she might recover enough memory to determine her true origins.
To re-reply to the first question though, Discord's spell was one-use only AFAIK, only intended as a boon.
3119655 are you sure it was one use only? I don't remember him saying that at all...
3120563 that's the thing though, with Discord nothing is ever truly certain.
Typically, triggered spells cast on others are single use for simplicity's sake. A spell meant for continuous trigger would be more complex, require more magic (typically supplied by the castee) and would probably have had him explaining how to redo the transformation if needed.
It's logical to assume that discord would expect her to succeed or fail, in either case not requiring further use of the spell (no point for it on Earth, and in Equestria they would already know that trick so it wouldn't work a second time). Then again, Discord, so it would be rather easy to retcon a multi-use clause in if needed.
3120643 since its discord I'd expect it to be multi use because it would be more interesting with a chance for awkward situations in the human world lol.
3121009 hmm maybe. Still tricky but doable, he would need to either ensure Earth has ambient magic enough to "recharge" the spell, or adapt the ability to generate magic into her along with the spell.
You know, the crazier it sounds, the more likely it is to be true......
3121097 when you think about it...this is discord lord of chaos...does his spells really HAVE to make sense all the time? He probably knows alot of loop holes...
