Man, Being Dead Is Lame · 8:29pm May 13th, 2015
...but fortunately, I'm alive, so whatever, I guess.
I wouldn't be surprised though if the words going through your mind right now are, "Who the actual fuck is 'Selbi' and why the hell do I have such a German dweeb in my followed list?" Let me answer that question myself: there used to be a time where I wasn't dead and—shockingly—wrote stories about—take a deep breath—cartoon ponies! *Dramatic organ chord*
Yyyeeeaaahhh... not much has happened since my last fic, which ironically was written in the spirit of an old chapter closing and another one starting anew. I just didn't know that chapter would contain the most fucking boring prelude you've ever read, oh my god.
I wish I could give a reasonable answer why this is the case, but I feel like the closest answer—my university drenching every last bit of free time out of my week (every Tuesday, for example, I've got class from 8:15 to 19:00)—only represents half the truth. I do have spare time, plenty in fact, but I'd rather take the time to do almost anything apart from pony stuff in it. I do have the chance to write, it's just that...
Well, to put it bluntly, the motivation to do so died away in a rather grotesque way.
I don't even really read any stories anymore (the last pony thing I read that wasn't a story update wasn't even from this year). What I do try to keep up with is my feed, because I still read almost all blogs I get. Ponying in itself became rather lame after two years of constant exposure too. Do you remember the times you were hyped as hell for a new episode and wished for Saturday to be tomorrow, even if it was Sunday? Right now it's more like, "Oh, it's Saturday again. New episode? Meh, maybe tomorrow."
What I'm basically saying, life is sweet and cool with college right now, albeit very time-consuming, and it also does an exceptionally well job at making me drift away from hobbies I'd thought I'd never be able to get away from (that also includes video games, for some reason). I will need more time to recharge my batteries for the hooves than I initially thought.
I hope you guys can understand that and won't rip my head off, cause being dead is lame.
Hey, what's with you and Aragon both using military time instead of AM/PM? Is it just something that Europeans prefer?

Yeah, we prefer the 24-hour system over here. To be honest, the first time I saw the AM/PM system I was like, "Seriously, what's the point?" I could've written 8:15 AM to 7 PM, and I did do that many years before, but by now I no longer really care. :V
3067411 military time is easier to understand, and convert between time zones. Also Europeans do prefer it, when writing stuff down.

I actually prefer AM/PM, but when trying to explain periods of time (as in, "I go to class from 9:00 to 19:00") military style is far better.
That aside -- yeah, in Europe we use military time. At least I remember learning that in school, and not really seeing that much AM/PM till I was around thirteen or so.
3067440 I understand the motivation aspect all to well. I have not really felt like reading or writing at all.
I mostly just read stories from friends or ones I am already in the middle of reading.
But look on the bright side Selbi. At least YOU have some good stories. The best I work I ever created was a third rate cheesy attempt for a story. (Yep, not even going to call it story.) Now that, is shame my friend.
