Was browsing yesterday, and I found a fic that caught my eye. Actually, it was the coverart that caught my eye.
This was one of the VERY few times when the coverart is what attracted me to a story.

So I read the story.
The Vacant Mind - Interview with a Pony Cannibal

Not a bad story. I enjoyed it. The style felt different and unique, and it kept my interest.
The author is new, though. New as in just joined the other day. He could definitely use more views.
Gvozdi

Check him out everyone. He has some skill, and I think more should see his writing.

Now, lets talk about that coverart...

WOW! :rainbowderp:
This is the artist
Tybay

What do you say about a piece that just blows your mind?
With seemingly simple use of shading and lines, she has created a work that conveys a sense of just how dark and evil a pony can be. Yet, it is not simple, when you look again. You see that the level of detail is high, while not looking more like a photograph. She captures a sense of insanity through the eyes that bores down deep into your soul like a badger digging for its next meal, and that meal will be every little bit of you that makes you alive. What gives the eyes even more impact is that instead of your traditional, oversized MLP eyes, she has given this character eyes that could very well be human, making them represent our darker side inside ourselves that much more. When combined with the furrowed brow, the blurring of the lines between equinity and humanity becomes complete, and the madness becomes our own.

To further complete the psychotic evil, you have details such as the subtle posturing of his head, which gives the appearance that he is looking down upon you as if you were prey destined to become his next meal. The licking of his tongue along his bloodied cheek, as if he is savoring the taste of the appetizer, now hungering for the main course, and the blood along his face and neck, indicating just how ferociously he attacks his meal, and that you, too, shall soon coat his being with your life essence. Even the mane and ears add to the effect. The mane gives the look of sleek efficiently, as if he will tear through you with the minimum of wasted movement, to have that much more time to savor his feast, while the ears, seem to be searching, focused upon the intended prey.

Beyond the darkness that the art drives into my soul, I see more. As someone who wishes to create 3D animated pony movies, I have been looking for ideas on how I can create a 3D image of them, that will look more like how a resident of Equestria would look in real life, and less like a walking bobblehead, as every Source Filmmaker pony video I have seen portrays them. The proportions and shapes, the fine details, and even the hints of the musculature, all add up to one thing. I have found the basis for the models I will need. Tybay has created the most lifelike ponies for the MLP universe I have seen, short of using this:

While browsing Tybay's gallery, I have found that her skill does not stop at this one image. She has skill way beyond just drawing ponies, and she uses her skill to make some of the best digital art I have seen in a long while. I personally recommend that you check her DA gallery out. I am certain that you will love what you find there.

Thanks, I've been writing for several years and participated in some other fandom based tournaments
Came close to winning too
But now it is my time to step from sci fi into the fantasy realm
And I think I have a lot of cool work to put out in the next year or so
Let us just hope I don't get shipped to a war zone or anything before then...

And yes, truly
Her art still takes my breath away at times
