Hey everypony! Long time no see from Boardgamebrony here.
I just received some very inspiring news!
A few years ago, I wrote the MLP fan fic "Luna, There's a Sentient Race Inside Your Mane."

Eventually, it garnered a reading from Micthemicrophone on Youtube:
The reading was fantastic and has been bringing people to my fimfiction page.
Well recently, I was shown a course curriculum from Princeton University. The course is currently underway and is called "Fan Fiction: Transformative Works from Shakespeare to Sherlock."

I've attached an image with info from the Feb 2 curriculum which shows my story as part of the ACTUAL COURSE curriculum. I was shocked to see my story is an official part of the collegiate system now. And not just any college, but PRINCETON.
I am utterly shocked to say the least. But I'm happy.
Granted, some of the other choices from other fandoms are...odd (like Harry Potter's "My Immortal") but I'm happy nonetheless.
Also, Sherclop Pones "Friendship is Witchcraft" and Bad Horse's "The Magician and the Detective" will be taught in the class tomorrow!

Both yours and Bad Horse's fics just so happen to be in my "Favourites", and I loved the early episodes of Witchcraft (it's been kinda mixed since Lunar Slender, though Foaly Matripony was pretty good), so I was pretty happy to see the news. I don't think there's much good fanfiction outside of our fandom, and they probably wanted to cover a wider spectrum of quality, so it's not terribly surprising they went with My Immortal. Anyway, congrats!

No none of that there. Did you read the rest of the list though on some of the stories? They can get pretty mature.
As for what's covered, they are including videos. They're using the micthemicrophone recording of my story, which is totally awesome!

Aw cool! I'm glad you have both my story and Bad Horse's work in your favorites. :) I haven't gotten to see ALL The FiW episodes, but I really do like it. It has changed though.
As for the fanfiction outside the fandom, I haven't read much. Harry Potter seems to have some really good ones.

And back when I first made this story, I actually considered sending it to EQD, but realized I couldn't because it was under the word limit for one-shots. Even now I think it still is. But I couldn't find a way to lengthen the story, and at the end, realized that lengthening it would be superficial since it already has a nice pace to it.
But I'm so glad that it finally made it's way to EQD so now other people have a chance to read it. And after such a monumental occasion too! :D

Yeah, the whole fic is absolutely hilarious. If you have half a day to kill you should check out the TVTropes drinking game page for the fic, I almost died of laughter reading it.
