So I just got to the last chapter of Colony, my current book. There's just this final chapter, then the epilogue, and then the first draft is done. Anyway, as I'm almost done with a the work that has consumed almost my every waking minute over the last half a year, I'm celebrating with an awesome announcement for you Dusk Guard fans. First of all, here's a quick look at what Colony is weighing in as:
Colony Stats:
Final Wordcount: ~325,000 words (1000+ pages bound)
Total Wordcount (including cut content) ~400,000+ (1200+ pages bound)
I totally could have made this a trilogy. Easily. I still might, depending on the Alpha feedback. But oh, do I feel so good right now! It's nearly finished!
Now, that said, I'm going to be pulling a double celebration the day I finish this draft. Where one project ends, another begins, and so, starting next week, I'll be working on "The Dusk Guard: Beyond the Borderlands" full-time! Huzzah! But wait, there's more than just that!
The day I finish the first draft of Colony, I'm going to celebrate by dropping a preview. Not for Colony. For "Beyond." That's right, sometime next week you're all going to get your first taste of the next book in the Dusk Guard Saga, right here on the blog! Nothing spoilery, I promise. But that's my celebration for finishing Colony: paving way for the next Dusk Guard adventure by letting everyone here get their first look at it.
2015 is going to be wild, people.

1. Colony as a nicely hardcover, preferable bound in steel with leather and wood!
2. weather conditions we are capable of doing our work.( I just hope it gets cold again..or just stays dry)

No. Colony is an entirely new dystopian sci-fi space opera. So complicated, that if it was divided into the length of a normal, 350 page novel, it would be five volumes long (It turns out that I've severely underestimated my page count above).
I'll be honest, I'm kind of tempted to divide it into four pieces, at least. Kind of a massive story.
