So, um...
I occasionally (read: frequently) will check the statistics of my fics to see how they're going. Because it's fun.
I've often found it quite entertaining that Little Deceptions and One of Those Days have about the same number of likes (although LD has pulled ahead significantly), and a difference of about ten-fifteen in dislikes - and LD is consistently in the top 50, while One of Those Days lurks around the 1000th mark. Dislikes: They ruin everything!
But Little Deceptions has always been fun to watch, ever since I noticed it was about 20th or so, which was crazy awesome. It would tick up, and up, and up...
...And then someone would add a downvote, spiralling it down somewhere between 50 and 80.
Then it would begin to climb again. This repeated several times, from about 8 downvotes to 14. The highest I ever saw it get was 8th place, and top ten was incredible... and then someone added the next downvote, and down to 83rd place it went.
Today I logged in and saw that apparently someone's changed their downvote to an upvote, and we're back to 13 downvotes only... so I wondered how that would change the fic's position...
And apparently I now have the #1 top rated fic of all time in Fimfiction.
Um.
Wow.

Thank you everyone for your appreciation! Still not sure I deserve it (especially for a silly one-shot that I just wrote to get out of my head so I could get back to actual projects) but wow. =D
Certainly gives me solid inspiration to write more XD
(Even if part of me says "You've peaked! You've won! Don't need to continue!" I will ignore it heartily.)
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go breathe... and update my plans for my next list of "What should I write next?" voting...

The #1 slot is kind of a curse; you get a bunch of extra views, but you will get that next downvote soon...
Still, it is good to see it back up there; it is a good story.
I suspect that the downvote got nuked as a result of someone getting their votes removed/banned; it happens sometimes when someone goes on a downvote spree/creates alts to downvote stories/ect.

Rereading chapter two just now, you deserved that slot however briefly you were in it. I wish I could upvote twice (well, without getting banned for voting with multiple accounts that it).

That was me, wasn't it?* I have a somewhat dumb tradition to downvote an OK fic who ends up in top10, and than, after it falls too deep due to more downvotes from other users (and there is no way to revoke a downvote) I upvote the story.
Sometimes it even launch the story back in top10
And the story is really OK. Just a glorified anecdote, though a neatly done one. Keep writing pal, you are not beyond redemption ;-)
*I don't remember for 100%. My upvote/downvote live is rather erratic sometimes.
