It would appear that the user A Follower was banned for what is now called "spam following" because some users find receiving follows that they don't believe that they earned to be annoying or even insulting. The people banned for this are those that are attempting to follow everyone on Fimfiction.
I'm not really sure, but those might be misbehaving ads... Browse through a handful of comments on knighty's userpage and you can see some others mentioning somewhat similar problems.
I had fimfiction.net on my AdblockPlus "whitelist", the list of sites allowed to load ads, and then it started redirecting to some page that had the logo for The Doctors on it as soon as the front page would fully load. After trying a couple times to get past it otherwise I removed this site from my whitelist. I'll probably whitelist it again in a month or two unless I hear about the demon ads being gone before then.
2711313 Yeah, this is what happens to me from time to time.
And I do have Adblocker in my extensions, but I have it turned off (disabled), as, for whatever weird reason, it wasn't letting me get into some of my more important websites that I use for my offline business and stuff.
Like the site where I check the balance for my Walmart Money Card VISA Debit Card. No matter how many times that I tried to log in after I downloaded and enabled "Adblock" and Adblock Plus", I just could not log in until I disabled all of my adblockers.
After that, I decided that being able to get into it, and the other similar sites that were acting the same way, was of a higher priority than the occasional annoyance of being redirected, so I just disabled the ad blockers.
Haven't had a bit of trouble with those other sites since.
2711526 Did you try whitelisting those sites? Just click on the ABP stop sign icon on your toolbar and then choose Disable on fimfiction.net (Replace fimfiction.net with whatever site you're actually on and wanting to disable it for)
This has happened to me as well over the past week or so, but I thought it was something with my computer. It's good to know other people are having similar issues, and that there is a way to stop it, though. Thanks for posting something about it!
2716398 Ah. FimFiction.net seems to be the only one I've had trouble with on that fact so far, but I'll keep an eye out in case it happens elsewhere. Are there other particular sites I should keep in mind?
the buck, that's weird
Same here, even when I'm on my user page and the page has fully loaded.
2710796 So you're getting it too?

2710805 Sometimes but it's annoying as hell.
Dude, just get an adblocker. It works like a charm.
Shit... I get this all the time. Annoying as fuck.
2710847 gcwg57 is right, an adblocker fixes everything.
2710851 thanks.
It's rare, but I get this occasionally. Different site though, I think it claims to be Forbes.
For me, advertisements from MGZ.Com keep hijacking the browser. ¡Hijacking is unacceptable!
2711282 Dude, adblocker. It works.

Knighty is aware but can't do anything. The problem is with Google not keeping their adsense clean.
I've been trying to get folks to blog so others can be aware. For once It's not Knighty's fault.

2711643 No, because I didn't know that you could do that.
I'll give it a go later, though.
Thanks for the tip, btw.

2716169 Your welcome, apparently it's a problem on this site and many others. It's google's fault.

2716899 I know Tvtropes is doing it along with some sports sites, but I don't know beyond that.
2716989 Ah. Thank you!
2717763 You're welcome.
