    PP vs. What I've Become

Knight Breeze's What I've Become might not be a name you've heard before, but given its stats, especially the over 60,000 views, I feel safe calling it a fandom classic. :) Major spoilers ahead for a ten-year-old story!

Fic recs, May 20th: Project Get! #17!

Hey! :D Welcome back to Project Get!, where I sort my RIL by views and grab the last 10 on the list that aren't sequels, unfinished, or by the same author twice! I've been trying to do this a lot more frequently, but 'frequent' has not exactly described these blogs out of me, has it? D: I dunno if that could change in the near future. I've got outpatient surgery on Wednesday this week, so I'm

State of the Writer, April 2024!

    It's another boring one! I ain't wrote nothin'! :B

It actually feels lately like I've been crawling out of a pit? So maybe there's a light ahead? But it's also blocked by Balatro lol somepony save me D:

The only other thing relevant to this blog is that I've had notes for a vs. post sitting in my notes document for probably the entire month now, what is wrong with me? D:

Fic recs, April 22nd: Jordan179 edition

Once again, though a good bit late, I bring it upon myself to memorialize an author via reviews of their stories. Though this time, it's different, as I had no connection to Jordan179 and only learned of his passing (three years ago this month, coincidentally), from this post

State of the Writer, July 2012 · 12:05pm Jun 29th, 2012

I'm going to spend a lot of time venting up front.

As I write this, two things are happening. First, I'm dreading my day at work -- the job I wrote about recently -- because it's the last business day of the month, and this means production is at full throttle. It's always the busiest day of the month. But yesterday was by far the busiest day we've had this month, and I can only assume that I'm going to expire in the near 90-degree heat before the day is over. Remember me fondly.

Second, all my butthole friends are going to BronyCon and I'm not. :( That very same job which has given me enough money to be able to afford to go is exactly the reason I can't. I'm still in a probationary 3-month period where I don't get vacation days, and even if I was, I don't think I'm allowed to take the last day of the month off, for the reasons stated above. I had had plans to go, but because of the time frame due to having a job, it's not possible. It sucks, hardcore. I feel like this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and everyone's going and I'm not. :( Woe is me and all that, but really, when are we going to have another Bronycon with this much stuff? There may not even be a fandom by this time next year. Hopefully I can at least make Trotcon next month.

Okay, enough moping and on to some good news. My entry in the /fic/ writeoff is tanking, and I'm going to be lucky if I can finish my story for the High Society Romance (current word count: ~7.5k out of 10k), but I did win the fanart contest held by Richard M. Nixon.

Because no one else entered. :/ The link is still live so you can read it if you'd like. I've got a longer version saved, but I'll take feedback on this, just because it's all I have to show right now aside from that story-in-a-journal I posted last week. Just remember, the word limitation was 2,020 and I pared it down to exactly that. I plan to polish it up just as soon as I'm done with contests, although that means both kits's shipping contest and next month's writeoff are in the way. <.< What is wrong with me.

In other news... There is no other news. That's it. All my other projects are on hold. I'm still thinking about them, mind you -- Blue Is Better, aka The Crown Prize, The Brony Princess, Epic Unicorn History, The Clock Is Ticking, even my sequels to The Elements of Awesomery -- I just don't have any time to act on those thoughts. The good news being that, hopefully, once I get back to writing them, they'll be even better than before thanks to all the time I've spent mulling over them.

Well, July promises to be exciting. But like I said, I just hope that I have something to show for it by the end. D: C'est la vie.

:twilightangry2: ARGH! THAT SUCKS SO HARD.

herpaderpa just quit, not like you need money :rainbowkiss:

PP, we can have a "not going to the con even though we can afford to" pity party in skype. I'll bring booze.

202525 I'm gonna have a "not going to the con even though I can afford to because it's on the other side of the world and it's a bit convoluted, and I don't drink so I couldn't even join a "not going to the con even though we can afford to" pity party party", myself.

PP: That sucks. You keep trucking, yeah? "On hold" is better than cancelled, any day of the week!

Wish I could do something to cheer you up, Present.:pinkiesad2:
