We're all going to make it · 1:02am Oct 28th, 2014

This one's a long one but just stay with me here...

>Be the author, BP (Before Pony)
>Fresh out of high school, a lad of 18 who lived in a suburb in north west Pennsylvania.
>5'5, 200 pounds of mostly fat.
>A shy young man that didn't really have that many friends. No job, no car, had family that poked fun at his weight, and was secretly depressed, though he refused to acknowledge it.
>It's summer, the young man his doing what he usually did: Laying around on his computer chugging liter after liter of whatever soda he could get his hands on.
>Brother comes in and tells him to go on Youtube and watch a show called My Little Pony.
>The young man snorts at the name (Because he's a man and men don't watch shows about cartoon horses) but decides to do it anyway.
>three days later, him and his brother had marathoned every single episode (About 60 or so)
>A few days after that, the brother finds a little sight called FIMFiction and shows it to him: more specifically a story called Pony Age Origins.
>After reading all thirty-three chapters of this, the young man man's up and signs up to the sight under the name Little Big Pony.
>Summer becomes fall, and the young man goes to a college called Indiana University of Pa to try to start a degree in medicine. Even now he didn't know what he wanted to do with his life, but his parents wanted him to go to college so he did just that.
>This was also the time when, noticing that when he looked down he couldn't see his toes because of his massive stomach, the young man started to do something about his weight; namely running.
>The young man continued to spend a lot of his time on Fimfiction, reading everything he could click, trying to keep his horse passion a secret from his roommate, who happened to hate bronies with a passion.
>As the months went by, the young man went deeper into depression, the university life of drinking and partying until the break of dawn not really appealing to him.
>So, as his depression worsened, his grades, which hadn't been that great to being with, declined, until he was failing all of his important classes.
>Since his family was only making things worse, the young man, desperate and a little bored, decided to try his hand at writing something.
>It was borderline awful, and before it was taken down a year later it only had fifty favorites, but for the first time in a long time the young man was actually almost happy.
>At the end of the school year the young man decided to leave the university and go to a simple community college, living with his grandparents.
>As another year went by the young man had dropped forty pounds and had started to get a little fame writing horse porn.
>He was still a naïve young man, who wanted, like so many, to cum in Rainbow Dash (simple because he had not yet recognized the best pony, Princess Celestia, yet).
>He continued to write, and run, until he started to write a story that he was sure he wasn't even going to like writing :What is love.
>He couldn't have been more surprised with how it was received, hitting the feature list in less than a few hours.
>This was the first time that the young man had to deal with criticism; a lot of it. It was so bad that he was almost ready to delete the story and be done with it, until a certain author, Zamairiac, sent him a message telling him that if he continued to work hard, git gud and/or betterer at words, then he could actually become a pretty good author.
>Inspired, the young man worked harder, in school, in his training, and his writing, losing weight, churning out words, and passing his classes, until, eventually, he had finished What is Love, became an honor student, and was starting to force himself to go to the local YMCA to workout.
>His meals changed to pizza and pop every night into fruit and rice and lean meat, and he just plain stop drinking the poison known as soda.
>This was also the time where he grew to know best pony: Sun horse. A truly magnificent time in the young man's life.
>As he continued to change for the better, he started applying for jobs and brought a car (a shitty one but a car none the less)
>In the gym, the young man finally found the thing that he needed in his life: Discipline.
> He started working as a janitor, started his business management degree, and started to get definition in the gym.
>His diet finally transformed into rice and chicken, his confidence started to go up, and he was actually happy. Happy to go to school to learn, happy to catch people mirin' in the gym, and just plain happy to greet each new day.
>He might not have been writing as much as he could have, but he was truly, absolutely happy.
>As he is right now, the author is still happily employed, weighing in at just 148, and he's actually being vocal in his classes.

I know that this might seem weird, and out of place, and I might even seem like an asshole or a smug piece of shit for making a blog about this, but I just want you guys and gals to know that you helped change me from the fat kid that hated himself into the guy I am today. Your messages, encouragement, and everything else has helped me to continue writing and to become a bit better at it.

We're all here because of a simple cartoon show, and I can say that I'm proud to be part of this crazy bunch of nuts that make up the brony community. From all of the people that sexually harassed me on the site before then following me for some reason (*cough* Hat*cough*) to the people that followed me all the way back when I was writing I'm not in Sparta anymore. I hope that MLP stays around for as long as they say it'll stay around so I can continue to write my horsewords that ya'll seem to like for some reason.

And just remember(to everyone that actually bothered to read this whole thing), if you think that you're fat, or ugly, or you get made fun of, or if you think that no one likes of cares about you, that some short, broke college kid from Pa thinks you're a pretty fucking awesome guy/gal. And this doesn't even mean you, followers; I mean everyone on this site. If you need someone to talk to, someone to vent with, or if you're looking to lose a couple of pounds and you want my routine, ; ) I'd be more than happy to help you out.

Also, AnonponyDASHIE, if you're actually reading this (you're not, but a guy can dream right?) even though I try to tell you every time you edit my story that you're a great guy for putting up with my terrible writing, and even though I'm sure that you hear it from every person who's stories you edit, you are actually a pretty awesome guy. You're a great writer, I'm sure a very aggressive and passionate lover, and I hope that my writings alright enough that you actually enjoy it when you're editing This is love...

...Also, once again, sorry about the bad writing; I'm trying to remember everything that you write about in the comments, and I'm at least hoping that something's sticking.

Anyway, tl;dr: thanks for everything guys. I mean it.

A life story transformation! Keep up the good vibes, LBP.

Well hey 15/18 stories of yours I have Favorited and 2 I have on my read later. To me that means a pretty damn good author which might not mean much from some shmuck but every little bit helps.

It's amazing how a show about small horses changed so many people's lives so dramatically.

Before I was introduced to it by a friend, I was in a self-destructive state of misanthropy. I was actively planning to kill as many people as I could.

Then a friend showed me Ponies the Anthology, wich was hilarious, so I got on youtube the next morning and looked up MLP FIM watched the first three episodes, and found that somehow the show actually calmed my misanthropy.
About six months after catching up, which was with 'Lesson Zero', I wondered what would happen if Red vs Blue's Michael J. Caboose met Pinkie Pie, so I googled and was led to 'My Little Caboose' by Darkwing on this very site. Two years later I tried my hand at writing myself, didn't do particulaly well at my first go at it, tried again with a heavily revised version of the same fic and the rest i history.

>He was still a naïve young man, who wanted, like so many, to cum in Rainbow Dash (simple because he had not yet recognized the best pony, Princess Celestia, yet).

I think we've all been there brother.

People need something to be passionate about in their life, otherwise it's not truly living. To quote Seven of Nine from Voyager "Survival is insufficient".

I'm glad you found something worth investing yourself into and that it's made a positive impact on your life. The artist's path isn't an easy one but you have the opportunity to touch the lives of so many others through your work.

As long as you enjoy writing, there will always be people who like to read your stories / chapters and are looking forward to the next one.

Started watching it one night because I was thinking the whole show was a joke and watching it was even more so.

I mean; "What kind of person watches a TV series for little girls? Obviously not me." I thought.

Forty episodes later, I found out something: It wasn't a joke.
A year and half later, here I am...

Not arrogant in the least. Congrats on getting into such a great spot in your life.:pinkiehappy:

wow never knew we had readers sucha s us had such impact in your life! good to hear you have gotten so much better. im glad you didnt give up and that you managed to pull through and come out on top.

One word to describe everything in this blog post:
Awesome

Few more words:
That was an awesome read, truly inspirational. There's enough shit in this world, so seeing someone actually succeed at getting their shit together or just succeed at something is so cool!
Hell yeah!

This is very inspiring man, I wish I had more of this kinda thing when I was 18.
You're also hilariously witty! If I ever met you at a con or something I'd love to have a drink with you. Provided you get something non alcoholic lol.
