As you may know it's been a month since I last updated A Nightmare Come to Life. Yeah, pathetic I know.
I've gotten 1600 words into chapter four, and it's at that stage where I could either keep writing the same chapter to the intended 4-5k words I wanted to, or I could publish a shitty 1600 word chapter to keep you guys happy or wrote a solid 4000-5000 word chapter.
What would be better? What do you guys think I should do?
while i would like to read it, i prefer longer chapters as they have more in them.
that being said, some fics (like the chase) works well with short chapters (kudz pops several chapters a day with the chase) and some with long (see Dropbear271 with 10K+ updates)
I'd prefer a 4k chapter, my urges need satisfying, and 1.6k seems too small, I'll be wanting more, bigger chapters.

Keep writing, because we'll just hate you in the long run for posting shitty chapters.
don't mind us and just keep your content nice and consistent with its quantity and quality, and if you may think that we are getting restless, then blog to us. Maybe you have artist block? Irl problems? At least when you tell us you get to buy yourself time to focus on whatever you have at that time. 
I would rather that you write the chapters to where you are satisfied with them I am willing to wait go right a good story
I'm not impatient; take your time and get it right.

I'd actually prefer the smaller chapter, for for reasons not related to quality or, well, wanting a new chapter.
By posting a new chapter, you'd be able to get a lot of immediate feedback, which can work as 1) motivation for writing more and 2) ideas on how to proceed from where you're at and 3)...well, it's istantaneous feedback, one of the advantages fanfiction has over regular fiction. I'm a firm believer in stacking up as many bonuses as possible when doing things.

Would 2000 be a better baseline?
I would get to that much and write an entirely new chapter with the outline I have got.
2483312 like I said. As long as its still good and you are comfortable withh it. Go ahead. I wouldn't mind reading just 2000+ words. Most fics have that baseline word count anyway.
My vote is a longer chapter is better (arounds 3k give or take), cause I crave reading.
But if you post up as is - or with some more done - You won't hear me complain, so long your comfortable with the work you are producing.

I'm gonna say 2000 for the time being. It gives me a short term goal, as trying to make this chapter longer is getting stale. I can easily write another 2-3k with the outline I have at the moment.
