200 hours in two and a half months of one of my favourite games of all time, sorry-not sorry I haven't written a single damned word of anything lately I've just been having way too much fun for what feels like the first time in years that isn't the toxic fucking cesspool that is Overwatch.
Playing Monster Hunter Rise has just been an absolute grand old time from my early days of playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the original chonky PSP (which I still have along with all my game data the charging port fucked itself because the pin broke off).
Between World and Iceborne which I picked up because "Hey, I remember that game, I'mma go give it another try" AND I FUCKING OPENED UP PANDORAS GODDAMN BOX' with all the kid memories of fighting dragons and wyverns with my beloved weeb stick and now that the Sunbreak DLC has been announced probably don't expect many updates from me for a while, but that's not to say I won't at least try to get out something before Sunbreak drops and I become some kind of recluse that hisses when his bedroom curtains are pulled open to reveal chip packets and energy drink cans strewn everywhere.
But in any case, right now my main goal in base Rise is melding a full stack of every single decoration possible in the game completely regardless of whether or not I'll need it since the longsword has always been my go-to weapon, which honestly has taken me the 200 hours I mentioned.
The skill ceiling on this game is so insanely high I'd put it in the same league as the Souls games in terms of difficulty to learn and get the hang of, because you will get your ass handed to you by every monster you fight.
But, I digress.
I'm gonna finish crafting all possible armour decorations so I have everything I could need for when Sunbreak releases in a few months, and once that's done, then I can put it on the back seat for a little while to focus on my stories which I desperately need to work on.
The Monster Hunter series, especially World and Iceborne, are absolute fucking masterpieces.
Time to sink many more hours into hunting monsters.

I know that feeling, i played MH4u, double cross, MHWI and now rise, it suee is fun as well as time comsuming. Just do what you gotta do and find fun. Writing i think its supposed to be fun for the writer, and if people like it the better
Reminds me of having to refight Akantor some 30 times in a day just trying to get a single gem for a sword upgrade I didn't even end up needing.
May as well call gems forbidden candy.
