I promised this like three months ago, but I've written a sequel to Blindsided. Well, am writing, still, but the first chapter is done and edited.
I don't usually do sequels to one-shots, as a rule, but Blindsided ended with such great possibilities for one that I couldn't resist. I've tried to make it somewhat different from a superhot-mega-ultra-climax clopfic and gone down the whole "romance" path, which is a little different from Blindsided but I hope y'all like it anyways.
I don't normally do progress blogs either, but I also wanted to explain why I've been quiet on the story front lately. Seems a lot of writers here end up making an apology blog about how they just can't find the words anymore, and how they'll try and do better. There's a bit of that involved, sure, but I don't want to talk about any of that.
Instead, I'm going to talk about the visual novel I've been working on (I'm a little hesitant to give the name here given the gratuitous nature of the stuff I write, but perhaps in the future). If you've never played a VN before, they're kind of like a video game crossed with a choose-your-own-adventure novel, with tons of art and music and usually with heavily romantic themes. I've been a writer for one for some time, but we've recently entered the "writing proper" phase and so any time and motivation I have to dedicate to writing now is split between pone and VN. And more often than not I'm afraid VN wins out.
So that's what I've been doing lately. I do want to keep writing pony stories, though, even with the VN eating up my creative time, so expect more from me soon. I'm also super-hype about Mis-Shapes, which I aim to publish on Friday after a final read-through and edit of the first chapter, with the second one almost finished as well. It's gonna be totally sweet and stuff.
There's also a thing with marshmallow pone that I've been meaning to finish for a while, so that might surface at some point. Either way, watch this space. Or don't, because you're a strong, independent black woman who don't need no man.

VNs are awesome and I can readily say that if you're involved in the writing for one, that will be a game I want to play. I can understand if you don't want to broadcast info about it, but I'd love a PM if you don't mind sharing what the project is.

One of the nice things about writing a longer story is that there's much more room to explore stuff like that, so (while I'm avoiding saying spoilers) expect plenty of that kind of thing!

I'll be honest, I often feel like a bit of a VN newbie compared to everyone else working on it because I've only read Katawa Shoujo and Muv Luv. They all seem to have read hundreds.
Well, also Monster Girl Quest but I don't think that counts...

I am extremely happy to read this. Blindsided is one of my all-time favourites, and you have proven yourself to be a talented writer. I'm sure the sequel will be awesome.
