Alex and Cadance- Their Universe and what all the stories are leading up to. · 3:53pm Aug 8th, 2014
Okay so I've had a few close friends (Who actually read my stuff!) asking about the Stoneverse (Nothing is set in stone) and whether or not the stories are random or are actually leading up to something.
It's the latter, so let me explain a little bit.
Nothing Is Set In Stone was the start of Alex and Cadance's relationship. It gave a nice bit of background and explained their feelings for each other well enough to justify the smexy end.
The Alicorn Instinct is actually one of the most important stories and I seriously recommend you give it another read before I upload the final chappy to Resistance Is Futile. Because the instinct itself is a complex matter, and it will be further explained as their stories go on.
Resistance Is Futile, is a nice bit of character development for the two. The first chapter has shown that neither are perfect and they both still have a lot of growing up to do. It also finally begins to show just how much Celestia means to Alex, which will also come into play later on in the series. The second chapter (As has been shown in brief snippets) brings back the Alicorn Instinct and shows just how dangerous and useful it can be when Cadance and IT are in perfect balance...more or less.
The Endless Nightmare is obviously a very dark side to Alex's story. It shows many things yet reveals little, but it will most certainly come into play in the story after it. Said story (I have decided) will take preference over any other I have planned at the moment. I'd like to write it while it's fresh and fun in my head.
Alex or Xander? is going to be a very interesting story, for as was shown in a tiny snippet, Alex has 'awoken' from the nightmare to find the moon strangely absent of its 'mare in the moon' symbol. Wondering why? Wait and see.

My guess is the nightmare somehow got inside his head and created an alternate reality that exists only there, probably to keep him safe until she succeeds.
And if she fails, hey, maybe he can somehow use the sword he found to kill the real Luna and troll the hell out of Celestia.
Well I already figured out the order of the stories so this isn't new. Buts at least this story is coming back from the grave.

Every Alicorn has the instinct, it was explained in The Alicorn Instinct
Well, your snippet on Alex and Luna being revived as NM reveals that Luna got a jolt of power by Alex returning. After all, if how Alicorn relationships work in the RBUC extend here, then having half her power returned provided the power she needed to become free.
Also people, haven't you figured it out? Zam is BUILDING up to Immortal Lovers through these subseries. Obviously there is going to be a lot of background stuff told in IM that none of you would get IF you don't read the others.
