    If

Sometimes, I make the mistake of looking at my stories here and their comment sections, and I get that old itch to make pony stuff again. I had a lot of fun doing it, after all, and I do love to entertain. I still have a lot of trouble getting any creative work done, of course. I haven't even had any real interest in it for quite a while, now. But even beyond that... well...

    A Collab Relic

A few years back, Samey90 and I started writing a story. A story about a little group of young pony friends hanging out at a lake. We did most of the writing on it, but it kinda fell by the wayside. I drifted away from ponies and retired, and it looked as though the fic might never see the light of day. But now, that story has finally been

    A Surprise Shadowbolts Story

Do you like the Crystal Prep Shadowbolts? Do you like stories with romance in them? Do you like a grittier and more realistic (and cynical) take on Equestria Girls? Then you might want to have a look at the story below the break. I think you'll like what you find.

And no, it's definitely not the Shadowbolts Adventures series, if that's what you guessed by who's doing this promotion.

    The New Fimfic

Is it April again already? Because this new site update is a joke.

Edit: Okay, it's not a complete joke. There's actually a lot of good stuff in this new update. Bugfixes and cool stuff galore. Buuuut there are also some not-so-good changes, and the flood of new code seems to have broken... everything, at one point or another.

Well, this is officially the worst reception any of my stories have gotten. Hell, even the one about Celestia trying to rape Sweetie Belle had a better opening day than this. I'm actually torn about how I feel, here. I mean, I'm disappointed at the story's borderline-failure, obviously. Then again, I'm kinda impressed that it's managing to piss so many people off. I didn't know I could do that so well without actually trying. I mean, I knew that it was gonna piss some people off, since it tears apart a popular fandom pairing, but I was expecting something a little more positive than this. I'm not gonna be all arrogant, and be like, "They just don't understand my art," because the story has problems, and I know that. I was on the fence about posting it, or even finishing it, for a while. Then I went, "Screw it, I don't really even have a reputation to ruin," and put it up anyway, for better or worse. Another experiment, I suppose.

Well, at least Spike's Mare is no longer my lowest-rated. It held that title for a long, long time. Almost a year, in fact.

... hey, I just noticed that my deconstructions are often some of my lowest-rated stories. Probably not a coincidence.

P.S.: By the way, Rainbow War is a real short film.

Sorry to see people reacting this way, but I'm certain that it has very little to do with how you wrote something, and everything to do with how the people on this site is like. They will give a dislike for anything. Mature? DISLIKE! Don't like the pairing? DISLIKE! It seems like most won't even bother to read something they have the slightest dislike for and instead just dislikes it to show they don't like a pairing, or a theme, or anything of that matter. Of course this is not all dislikes, but honestly, it seems like a lot of dislikes only pops up on stuff like that, regardless of how well written it is.

Looking through the comments, it seems it's visibly touched/upset some people for legitimate reasons, so at the very least, you can consider it a success in generating discussion. I'd never even heard of flipping before reading these comments.

Also, in positive news, Alex and that other Site Reviews guy Loved Trixie's clubhouse.

The story certainly has problems, but not so many or so strong that it explains the like to dislike ratio. It usually takes a pretty terrible story to do that. I hope this doesn't discourage you from writing more deconstructions. While More Than A Sleepover wasn't strong enough for me to give it a thumbs up, I really liked Spike's Mare.
Some things need to be said even if they're unpopular. Especially if they're unpopular

I wouldn't call it a failure, I'd say that it's controversial.

Likes = People who could relate to the moral or understand it's meaning. People who enjoy more mature takes on popular pairings that explore them in a different light. Other reasons.

Dislikes = Story felt incomplete, time skipped too far. Characters out of character because headcanon. TwiDashers raining down to swarm against the one who would dare write something to the contrary of their OTP.

I think those cover the most common arguments. Personally the story felt it skipped a few of the pivotal moments that could of helped escalate the drama and severity to show Twilight just how NOT OKAY Rainbow Dash was about the whole thing. Show how far RD goes to distance herself. It did have a few red flags like "just don't look too deep or you'll start seeing things that aren't really there." and another by Twilight early on I forgot.

But, overall, it was a pretty good read. Totally felt like something RD would do, especially given how she doesn't like being touched on her hooves and such. Too sleepy to type. But yeah, 20% Brony and PQ have the right idea. What you have here is a split in of opinions and shouldn't be views as BAD WRITING just because of an almost 50/50 rating. All that means is a lot are just not fans of anti-twidash stories that mess with their OTP, or they just don't have the life experience, maturity, to grasp what the story was out to do.

People hate it when you fuck with the things they love. I know how you feel, Bootsy. I have a story that's like/dislike ratio is very similar to yours. I'm just surprised you don't have more dislikes, seeing as how the TwiDasher's are all practically crazy.

That sort of thing does happen too often, yeah.

2304313 2304324
Yeah, this apparently resonates with a lot of the LGBT community. Probably should have seen that coming. I don't write to provoke controversy, but I do like to provoke discussion.
And yeah, seeing Trixie's Clubhouse get reviewed was pretty cool and quite unexpected.

2304372
Oh, don't worry, I still plan on writing deconstructions. I've had Flutterdash in my sights for months (which I actually like).

Some things need to be said even if they're unpopular. Especially if they're unpopular

Exactly, man. If there's a void on Fimfiction, I feel the need to fill it, particularly with things that others don't want to write about.

2304409
Borderline failure. It does have more likes than dislikes (for now). Controversial is a good word for it, yeah. I might go with polarizing, too.

2304445
Exactly, yeah. You've summed it up quite nicely. It has flaws, and the premise is simply not for everyone.

2304481
"Applejack is going to kill Diamond Tiara," right? I remember that one. Damn, dude, that did have it pretty rough, yeah. Heh, I guess I'm actually lucky it's as high as it is right now.

Are you happy to write story's? if yes then it dose not matter what otter people think, you write for you'r own pleasure and satisfaction. And if you want to post it for all to see, than you simply want to share you'r work.
Look at my story's i don't care what people think (that may be because i can't see positive or negative. Instead i see it as tips or advise)
I say that this story was good and very well written, sure the TwiDash fans are going to give you some flack but then again this fandome is messed up as it is.
Low or High it dose not matter, as long as you enjoy it don't stop.

Well, I pretty much just write whatever I want. Although, I must admit that seeing things like "The story as is is a mess and says little of any real value and could have been written way better" is a bit bruising to one's ego (despite of the comment's lack of grammar). Some negativity isn't gonna stop me from writing, though. Hell, if that were all it took, I'd have stopped after my very first fic.

You're right, though. I always wrote for my own passion first, really. I mean, I love entertaining people, but writing has always just been something I love. Unless I stop loving writing, I won't stop doing it. Thanks.

Apologies to hear things haven't been so hot. I confess between a con and the con flu catching me amidships I've not done much reading. I recall your fic, but think I felt it wasn't my speed, though I'm surprised to hear folks are disliking it.
