    If

Sometimes, I make the mistake of looking at my stories here and their comment sections, and I get that old itch to make pony stuff again. I had a lot of fun doing it, after all, and I do love to entertain. I still have a lot of trouble getting any creative work done, of course. I haven't even had any real interest in it for quite a while, now. But even beyond that... well...

    A Collab Relic

A few years back, Samey90 and I started writing a story. A story about a little group of young pony friends hanging out at a lake. We did most of the writing on it, but it kinda fell by the wayside. I drifted away from ponies and retired, and it looked as though the fic might never see the light of day. But now, that story has finally been

    A Surprise Shadowbolts Story

Do you like the Crystal Prep Shadowbolts? Do you like stories with romance in them? Do you like a grittier and more realistic (and cynical) take on Equestria Girls? Then you might want to have a look at the story below the break. I think you'll like what you find.

And no, it's definitely not the Shadowbolts Adventures series, if that's what you guessed by who's doing this promotion.

    The New Fimfic

Is it April again already? Because this new site update is a joke.

Edit: Okay, it's not a complete joke. There's actually a lot of good stuff in this new update. Bugfixes and cool stuff galore. Buuuut there are also some not-so-good changes, and the flood of new code seems to have broken... everything, at one point or another.

But even beyond that... well...

If I did manage to start publishing again, would anybody read it? I still haven't kept up with the show, so anything I wrote would be about things that are old news, or concepts that aren't even that much connected to canon events. My work was rarely super popular anyway, and I don't need to crank out constant hits or meet arbitrary popularity quotas to not deem my work an utter failure, but it's still disheartening to publish a work and see barely anyone even read it. And if I write to entertain (giving back to the community was why I started this, after all), doubly so.

So even in the times when the old tinder of ponyfiction starts to catch an ember, I find myself wondering if I should even bother. What do you think? If I wrote, would you read? If I build it, will you come?

P.S.: This isn't fishing for validation, pity, or anything of the sort; I don't do that. I genuinely want to know what you all think, even if it might be something I won't like hearing. And don't take this to mean I'd definitely make a comeback if you said "yes", because I can't make anything even resembling promises. This is just sort of a little probing expedition, so to speak.

Hey, don't worry about being out of touch, I've been out of it myself. I don't even know who Adagio Dusk is, is she the one with the hair? :derpyderp1:

Adagio Dusk? Aren't you mixing two characters?:applejackconfused:

As long as at least one person finds joy from reading a story of mine, I’m personally satisfied. You’ll have to decide what your own criteria is, but that’s my philosophy.

That's actually the same line of reasoning that causes me to never take any of my stories/pictures down, even if I think they're bad. Somebody enjoyed them, and so someone else might in the future, so I'll keep them up for those people. If that's good enough to keep stories up, maybe it's good enough to post them? Of course, I'd have to write them first, so there's that.

You know I'll read it! :twistnerd: you do good work

I'd read it. Your fics were always a joy to read; much more creative and original than what we get these days.

Come now! Your bootsy slickmane! Sure your better know as the cover artist of the shadowbolt adventures (whenever they’ll return :( ) but I’ve still got much of your own content saved for possible fanfic reviews and readings one day :pinkiehappy:

(this is a year old post, but i'm replying anyway)

Well, you're certainly not the only one out of touch. I stopped watching after season 3. This year, I've been sucked back into the FiMFiction world to find as many good stories as I can, and I realized; I like the fics better than the show itself. Now, I'm feeling the pull to write, but I can't bring myself to watch 9 whole seasons of a show I think is just alright. I can relate to your sentiment pretty well.

Having at least one fan is a tremendous feeling. Any fanfiction community thrives off of connection. Encouragement and inspiration are what give people the will to keep going. If you feel any of that, then latch onto it. Don't worry about how many people will read your stories - the important thing is that someone will.
