Man, I hardly know what to do with myself first! I'll probably write a bit before bed, although I'm pretty tired and I don't think I'll make much sense, but that's what editing is for! Well, and my wrist kind of hurts. This is just going to be a little thing, but it's going to be a big deal, in a way, so I'd like to do it right.
But on to today's big news: the Rainbow Rocks synopsis!
"In 2014 music rules and rainbows rock as TWILIGHT SPARKLE and pals complete for the top spot in the CANTERLOT HIGH "Mane Event" talent show. The girls must rock their way to the top, and outshine rival ADAGIO DAZZLE and her band THE DAZZLINGS, to restore harmony back to CANTERLOT HIGH."

Did someone say talent show? As in, doesn't have to be bands? It could be ANY kind of talent?

Blah blah blah, DHX stole my idea, whoopdidoo, no, I'm sure they didn't. A talent show always made more sense, because they can have more different kinds of acts and more fun. I'm almost positive that Octavia will make an appearance, so why not---

How boss would it be if the other adult characters in the show were teachers? *le gasp* WHAT IF DISCORD AND THE OTHER VILLAINS WERE TEACHERS?! I would looooose it~!

Half the fun of EG is just waiting to see who turns up and how.
. . . you're still pulling for Sombra as a teacher, aren't you? You never know. We've had the Flim Flam brothers, the Diamond Dogs. If they do, as rumored, go for a series as in Equestria Academy, anyone could show up.
I just want to hear Vinyl talk, as soon as that happens I can die happy.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the movie didn't have Cheese Sandwich show up at least in a non-speaking role. Equestria Girls had a heck of a lot of Background Humanoids, and Cheese was a major character in his main episode.
If they do a talent show, I get the feeling there will be a few seconds of screen time for well established characters who won't speak. Like for example, we'll see Octavia play a bit of the cello, maybe Lyra plays the heart strings for no reason, and, what we're all hoping for, Cheese to make an appearance. If this does go down, he likely won't say a word, but rather just be a small appearance. If he does speak though, having some more screen time, perhaps he will have a little chat with Pinkie at some point, at which point I'll be throwing my hands in the air and shouting HALLELUJAH!
For Rainbow Rocks, I'm looking forward to what they'll conjure up. I rather enjoyed the first film, and after watching those short clips, it's got me a little hyped for the sequel. I do question the whole anthro thing though. It kind of bugged me a little in the first film too. Was the anthro really needed? The question I ask most is:
What happens to their human ears once they grow those pony ears? Seriously, it's never brought up or shown.
There's quite some possibilities they can do with characters. Even a small cameo appearance, they could still pull off a little joke here or there. I quite like imagining Sombra being a janitor, though I don't know why. Ex-king of thousands, ruling a kingdom. Brought down to... a janitor. The irony.
And I can see I'm not the only tease around here. Well played.
God damn, that would be so awesome if Cheese had a surprise cameo. Extra points if Weird AL has a bit of a speaking part.
Crossing my fingers for a Cheese cameo! Ehehehe... even if I otherwise hate the movie, I'll be really happy about that!
Well, this is an interesting development. Also, apparently movie antagonists have to have a name that's synonymous with "sparkle." I'm crossing my fingers for Scintillation Jones at some point.

It's always been my headcanon that Discord teaches physics, Sombra teaches chemistry, and Chrysalis teaches biology.
If Cranky Doodle, Flim and Flam, the Diamond Dogs, plus the possible movie cameos can be there, I'm sure Cheesy can appear. The only problem would be getting Weird Al back, since he's a celebrity and stuff.
I just hope the movie doesn't end up a cliché battle of the bands. ^^;;
