2202704 A/V and Events/Programming. I tried to create a fanfiction position, but almost no one but DustyPwny cares about FanFiction. Jake the Army Guy is there, but not very involved too.
They could've at the very least told you in person and ask you to fix those problems rather than just fire you through Skype chat. Then again, I don't do that shit, so I don't know how it works. Sorry to hear that.
This is a fairly bullshit management style. When there is a problem, there is a series of escalations that need to happen before firing. You never jump straight to termination without talking to the employee personally, and then in a group with whatever the HR equivalent is.
This is the sort of thing that amateurs do, which may be the case here. I'm not sure what level the people are who put BABSCon on, so maybe it's par for the course. But it's still a lame way to run things, and smacks of people who make emotional choices versus logical ones. It's hard for me to say with any authority, since I really don't know what happened, but I'll take someone who's a little weird that works hard any day of with week. There is a line, of course, and I don't know if you crossed it or not, but termination without review is strictly for terrible managers.
2202912 Thanks Juggy. That's the thing. I know I've been imperfect, but I didn't ever realize it was firing time. I though I was doing fine after a rough few first months.
