Okay, this little thing may have been a week too late but I do have a valid excuse for it somewhere laying around! As of this writing we are June the 7th of 2014 and that means that I have passed through June the first, a date that is rather special to me but kinda completely forgot about it as I was on a Dutch brony meet. Anywho, today a week ago marked the day that I began writing my fictions within the fandom of MLP and writing in general really. June the first of 2012 marked the day that my sequel to Cupcakes was released to the crowd and well, what happened afterward is actually history.
But I’m not going to dwell too much in the past really as I have done that in my one year anniversary blog. Together with that blog I also published a story called ‘Looking back’ and reflected in a way what I was going through in that moment of my life. The reflection of everything I had done within the fandom up to that point and the works that I had made up until that point. Today, many more works have been able to join the line-up from that moment onward. For one of my biggest story so far wasn't made within my first year but my second.
Today I want to do something a little bit different though. For where last year we looked back upon the stuff I managed to print out of my mind, today I want to look at the things that are still ahead of me. Things that could happen at any given time and moment. For you have to remember the very fact that even in January of 2012 I wasn't a brony at all or had even heard of the show. If you would have told me I would be a massive fan of the show ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’ and would even start to write about those very characters in just 6 months away from the date, I would have laughed my ass off without a doubt and perhaps called you crazy.
Yet here we are, funny how things always kinda turn out. We are two years further and no sign of backing down anytime soon from my side. For the stories just keep on coming to me like that. Ideas are in the starting blocks and ready to be written out to their full potential while I keep on brooding schemes up. Schemes that most likely will get me into stress, but that’s nothing really new for me. So, what can you expect to be coming from the mind of silly old me, eh?
Well that question might be a bit more difficult to answer than I originally thought. But let’s just say that there are many more adventures coming with our six beloved little friends and their entire world. A world I can turn upside down in the matter of seconds in either a good or a bad way. I’m not going to say when you can expect new works to pop up really as I prefer to completely write the story first before publishing even the first chapter.
What I have planned and in store for the year to come might be a bit of a rush of content as we also approach the second anniversary of my little series called ‘The Art of Magic.’ The final story in the series as I have it planned is hopefully going live in the week of June 16th, so you may keep an eye out on that. Further more, we are just going to continue with both Blood Curse Boutique and A new breed of evil as I always have been. Yet a couple more mysterious projects are lurking within the shadows, ready to tackle me at any given time to be worked out. Be prepared for what's to come, that’s all I can really say about the facts as they are.
Now then, we have taken a look at the future and as murky as it is, it might just be clear enough to interest you. Though as much I sometimes love to get rid of the past, I’m afraid that we have to look at it even today. But the past of this year is certainly something a bit more interesting to me when compared to my first year. While I may not have produced as many stories in my second as in my first, I think it is safe to say that the quality of my stories has gone up at a near astonishing rate. For the countless rewrites and edits that have been done took away a lot, and I mean a lot, of my time. Yet it means that I can once again say that I’m darn proud on the mountains of work that I have moved in just a single year.
For not only did the produced stories became more of a joy for you all to read, they also interested you in what else I could be giving next. And that showed to me big time. After I had done a little bit of math and scaling upwards to get whole numbers right out of my head, it is safe to say that from June the first of 2013 up to 2014, my followers count here on FIMFiction has gone up with about 200%. That’s right, I managed to get double the amount of followers in my second year then my first.
Which brings me to my next point in case. I’m wanting to thank each and every last person who has been discovering me and made the decision to stick around. Whether it was a wise one or not still remains to be seen though. Though with the joking aside, I really, really thank each and every last person who has either decided to follow me, or just read my work in general. For in the end I’m not writing for the fame within the fandom. I write my tales so that I can share my wild ideas and tales of absurdity with the rest of the world. And the world is doing a pretty good job at liking it. So once again, I want to thank every last person I have met, come across, talked to, followed, read any of my works. Basically, just thank you all.
Before we end this blog, there are two or three last little things that I need to get off of my chest. Two little things that are rather big to me. The first one being a bit of saddening news. It's the fact is that I had to quit role-playing on Ponysquare in order to keep on writing. There’s nothing wrong with me, don’t worry about that fact. It’s because of the fact that I now also have a job. And a job + writing + role-playing the way I did, equaled not really working well together at all.
Anyhow, the second thing I have to say before ending is perhaps more of an call to all of you lot. As of right now and up until June the 15th, the Dutch brony community is working around the clock in order to get the money ready for the first ever Dutch brony convention called ‘Heart’s Warming Con’. Any useful information can be found right here and read it at your leisure. If you’re interested, you can support the con by buying perhaps a ticket if you live nearby or just want to donate something. Just look around and feel free to do what you like. For if the party continues, I’ll certainly be trotting around there as well.
Thirdly and lastly there is one more thing. Last year I made the story Looking back as an honor to my first year anniversary. This year I kinda have the same thing. Yet due to complications I couldn't get both out the same time so the story has been up and running for a bit already. Diamonds are a girl's worst enemy is my gift to all you guys for this year.
