I just recently finished this one story called Of The Hive and I must say I am incredibly impressed. It's well written, the story flows well and I can hardly find anything to complain about concerning it.
It's a story about a certain Hive of Changelings that takes contact to Celestia in an effort to establish peace, and Twilight then travels to this hive as a temporary diplomat to learn about these changelings and further work on bringing peace between them.
If you read the synopsis you might realise that it's a "X Becomes Changeling" fic, but please don't let that scare you away. It's likely the most original concept about the whole thing on the site. It isn't through some mysterious magic that just randomly happens (like seen so many times) or someone hiding the fact that they have always been one. No, this time it comes willingly, and that is something I appreciate very much.
Furthermore it's... You know what? I won't spoil anything for you, I fear I may have already said too much. Anywho, go read it. Seriously, do it. I have not had so much joy reading a story since... I don't even know when. It's just absolutely amazing.

Also, for those interested in The Fate of Clover, I am currently having some problems with my wrists and haven't been able to write much for the past week and a half. Rest assured that I'll get to it once they don't hurt anymore. With that, go read Of The Hive, damnit! And don't come back until you've finished! 
'Tis indeed a good story! though I have to admit, I've kind of drifted away from the sequel - it's been falling into some of the tropes that this one avoided, alas. I'll catch up on it when it's done though, and I'll reserve my judgement for then.
