Level Dasher

    What happens when a life-changing event occurs that shapes your whole life? What if that event occurs when life has barely begun? If a kid has dealt with more issues in six years than most can handle in a lifetime, how do you think they'd feel?

    A comment on my previous blog reminded me that I didn't update here yet, but it still won't be horribly long.

    I Live!

    But I’m on a buttload of drugs and am going to pass out.

    Surgery went great, even better than expected. I’ll elaborate more later.

    Until next time!

Updates · 11:18am May 8th, 2014

Ah, the semester is over. My Sign Language final exam was yesterday, and I think I did well. Pretty sure I'll nail at least a 90%. {Update for anyone who cares: 96.66% on my exam, and about 96.5% (without participation factored in, which I'm practically guaranteed to get full credit on if it does) for the whole semester!}
The end of this semester has been a bit hectic, despite the fact that I've only been in two classes and had one final exam. Unfortunately, it wasn't class that was the problem.
I'm still in the process of officially transferring, and now that I've finally handed in all the necessary documents (application, transcript, essay, recommendation letters...), I just need to wait to hear from the Admissions office. I've been told by numerous sources, including the dean of my department and the Admissions advisor, that I don't need to worry about not being accepted. It's nice that I don't need to worry about that, but that's not the issue. My transcript from my old school is still under review to see what classes will transfer, and I can't start registering for next semester's classes until I'm officially matriculated, so now I'm just stressing out about not being able to get into the classes I need to take because all the slots might be filled. Damn formalities... {Update: I got the call— I have officially been accepted. Now I just need to wait for my transcript evaluation to see what classes I need to take. ALMOST done here. *phew*}

Anyway, back to ponies.
After an annoying surgery recovery (in which knowing Sign Language was INCREDIBLY helpful), I was finally able to get some more work done on Crimson, so next chapter is just about ready to be published tomorrow. Now that classes are over, I may hopefully be able to do my weekly updates again, but that depends on whether I can write at the proper pace, and if my editor is available. If not, I'm on enough of a pace at the moment that I can update weekly to a good stopping point, which should be in about three or four chapters. If that happens, I may have to put the story back on hiatus to get a good grip on my writing, but if I do, I won't come off until I can update weekly again. I just MIGHT have the story finished by the end of August, but with my random writing pace and my editor's schedule, there are no guarantees.
For those of you that have been following Crimson diligently, I want to say thanks. I know that short chapters and infrequent updates are annoying, but with everything going on, my writing pace isn't as quick as I'd like it to be. I'm still writing that collab with Anonymoose, too, so I'm bouncing back and forth between the two.
I've also got six editing slots filled, three of which are, let's say 'active'. Two are on hiatus, and one won't be edited until the story is finished (I'm not sure exactly how long that will take, but I've been reading it, and it's gonna be good). Now that I've got more time, I want to be able to work with those authors when they are available, and everyone's schedule is different. Oy vay. Editor problems. {Updated my "Occupies My Time" Box to reflect this (and new developments)}
I've also got 147 stories on my Read Later list, and 134 unread chapters in my Favorites. Geez, I've got a lot of reading to do...

On top of all of that, I want to try and find something to do over the summer that doesn't involve me sitting on my butt in front of my computer all day. Maybe I'll actually go outside.

Yeah, wish me luck on that.

Crimson, so next chapter is just about ready to be published tomorrow

:yay:

I was going to ask if you thought you did good on it or not. :twilightsmile:

For outside things this summer, I recommend the beach. :twilightsmile:

Sum…mer? What is this thing you speak of? I know not. I only know of thunderstorms and hail and rain and assholes who aren't in the souther hemisphere!

2088464 I'm not much of a beach person. I'm more of a rock climbing person, but there aren't any good places for that around me. :fluttershysad:
2088743 I've been to Tasmania. I know the crazy shit you know. :rainbowlaugh:

I took two semesters of ASL~ :yay:

Come to Maine AND WE'LL GO FISHING OR SOMETHING, YO
Yeah, right. XD

You can go outside and draw. Or just chill outside a coffee shop and look all hipster with a sketchbook. Idk

2089874 My mother keeps telling me I should go to Maine. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll do it. :applejackunsure:
After taking a painting course as my second class this semester, I have determined that I should probably stick with digital art. It's SO much easier to correct mistakes, and I do happen to have a tablet. I just need to USE it (and the right CPU program).
Unfortunately, we don't have "coffee shops" in my town. Not even a Starbucks. We've just got Dunkin' Donuts and a bunch of places that happen to sell coffee. I'm also too lazy to go anywhere and look hipster, so I'll just do it in the comfort of my Man Cave. :rainbowlaugh:

2090464
Yeah, same XD I wish I had a man cave, though.
Well, Maine is called "Vacation Land."
All four seasons, there are fun things to do. I haven't really done much yet, even though I've been here for a year and a half. .__. I work too much.

2091234
Yes, laziness at its finest and with the best atmosphere. :rainbowwild: The Man Cave definitely needs some cleaning, though. :ajbemused:
Honestly, there's not much to do in my town year-round. I live in the boring 'burbs. :facehoof:
Take some time off! And do some more drawing! :yay:

96.66% on my exam, and about 96.5% ........ for the whole semester

Congratulations! :twilightsmile:
