    Grumblemumble...

You know those times when you write something, and then go back to rewrite a certain part of that something because you realized that it was kinda dumb as dumb-stuff, but wind up getting completely stalled in the process, and the wind is taken out of your metaphorical sails?

...yeah. That kinda happened. To me.

Bum da daa da duh da dah!

(+Cookie if you guess what the "lyrics" were from)

Hello thar, it's been awhile, hasn't it? Haven't heard a word from me in...like...a while and stuff! I'm just posting to let you know that I've been making good progress with the next chapter. Tentatively I'd like to say that the first draft will be done in the next two weeks so...there's that.

Have a few teeny tiny previews.

    Everything went better than expected!

    Well...you see...

    New computer. Already.

Sweet. Though, now I have all the crap on steam to redownload...

Also, even though I found out that my old man lost his job about an hour after my computer went kaput, it sounds like he's already found a new one (he had an interview yesterday). I guess having more years of experience in his job than I've been alive looks good on a resume.

Um...I have a teeny tiny problem...

...Yeaaaah...You know that computer of mine, that some of you may have noticed me complaining about some? How it's lousy and I wish I had a new one? Well...

    ...um...

It's also the computer I write my stories on and it kind of...um...bricked. Kaput, kablammo, died, bit off more than it could chew, is pushing up daisies.

    This...may be a problem.

Have a few teeny tiny previews.

“It’s because I couldn’t,” said Luna. “I may navigate the astral plane as if it were an ocean, and dreams islands. Your dreamscape is as if it were surrounded by tall cliffs without a safe harbor to be found.” She pawed at the floor. “I must use a more direct approach,” said Luna, before looking him in the eye, “However, I will not force this upon you. Do I have your consent?”

And now Luna was making a pouty face, there was no way he would be able to refuse now.

When Luna’s horn lit up, the spell circle glowed brightly, and then her mind was in a different place. She stood in a wild, unshaped dreamscape. The grey horizon stretched endlessly into the distance, under a shimmering golden sky, while darkened clouds streaked through it. The color reminded the Princess of an eternal sunset. Flecks of golden light flitted through the air, around, and through her.

What have I been doing? Well, school started a month ago...so I've been getting ed-juh-muh-cated. I've also recently played through the original Bioshock, bought it forever ago when it was on sale on Steam like...Christmas '10, though I never got around to playing it. Finished it on hard like a boss, probably going to try the other ones as well. Also, I've picked up TF2 again. I haven't extensively played that since the Engineer update. At the moment, I'm currently in the middle of DLing XCOM, so I'm probably going to give that I try. Also, I played through FO3 (again) though did a few things differently, which led to satisfyingly intense moments (because mods).

Deathclaw matriarchs (added by MMM) are a total nightmare with FWE. At least until you get power armor. Unless you have a high agility, even with both legs crippled they can still move faster than you can backpedal, and then promptly pimpslap you and send you flying, and then finish you off when you're down.

Also started an NV run with a buttload of mods as well...haven't gotten to far though.

It's been so much more satisfying (with my new PC) that I've been able to play my games without the FPS constantly dropping to the point where it becomes a slideshow. Unfortunately NV still crashes a lot, but that's life.

Have a few random screenshots!
Super giant radscorpion (from AWoP I think)

Ow my poor noggin

Shame that this isn't animated, because the enclave soldier here (that's glowing green) was totally glitching up, and it was hilarious. Essentially, he started spinning uncontrollably, and wound up launching crap everywhere by slapping it really hard with his out of control limbs.

*ahem* And now, for something different: Something I'd like to see in the next Fallout.

In short, I'd like to see SPECIAL scores having a much bigger impact the closer you move it to an extreme value. I've always found it odd that at 1STR, despite being so badly atrophied that it's amazing you're still walking (according to the doc) can still carry around...what was it, 160lbs? It's been forever since I've played vanilla. Where on the opposite spectrum, the difference between giant man and teeny baby wet noodle is a mere 90lbs of stuff.

What I'm thinking is instead of the statistics SPECIAL affects being linear, it's exponential instead. This week, I'm only going to cover strength though, since if I covered all of them, I'd be here for awhile.

I even came up with a formula for it:

CW = 25*(1.395)^(STR - 1)

For quick reference: STR 1 = 25lbs, STR 5 =~ 100lbs, STR 10 = 500lbs

Keep in mind, a score of 5 is "average", and a normal person carrying around roughly 45kg of stuff without getting slowed sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Unless you are giant man, you have to be more thoughtful about what junk you want to bring with you. And based on Doc Mitchell's reaction and the little description of 10STR, I'd wager that at that point you are a GIANT MAN.

"But Explodium," you might say, "That's way to high of a carrying capacity. That's not very balanced!" But I propose this in return: You will be sacrificing points in other stats for one thing, and but here's this: know those heavy weapons that are laying around? Notice the name: heavy. Those things would weigh a frikken' ton. Partially I guess I'm influenced by the fact that the Heavy from TF2's minigun weighs like 300lbs...but I digres. I always found it completely ridiculous that this trooper's giant gun...

Only weighs 15lbs.

At lower STR, you'd barely be able to lift that thing, let alone aim it. In short, most of the weapons that have a higher STR requirement to use them effectively, big guns, giant hammers, and other such stuff, also weigh a lot as well. Big weapons are for GIANT MEN. TEENY MEN must either wear power armor for the STR bonus (I'd like to see it returned to it's FO1/2 stats), or stick to smaller weapons.

TL;DR: Strength is exponential. Heavy weapons are intended for giant men, and weigh a whole lot more to reflect this to make up for the increased carrying capacity.

I'll cover more attributes next post.

Lastly, the new episode showed that AJ is hotpony. Have some AJ.

I see you un-exploded. Good.

Squee! The next chapter is coming!

Guessing Music is James Bond?

Awesome. All of it.:pinkiehappy::derpytongue2::moustache: Can't wait for the next update.

I hope you realize that Moding new Vegas is pretty difficult considering that most mods will have at least one or two conflicting mods that just won't work, that you have to spend the time finding that prefect blend for it to run without it crashing or not loading past the main menu, but still hope you had as much fun as I did it playin' it.

... yeah, I've got nothing; I have no idea what that music is supposed to be. Can't even come up with a working rhythm for it, to be honest.

Hmm. Godzilla!

Hyrule Market theme from Ocarina of time?

Something related to Gaga...I don't listen...and I have no idea what it is, so I'm just guessing. Is it lyrics? ...I don't really think a song would feature lyrics like that...

edit: Hold up. 20th Century Fox logo music?

When I said "Lyrics" I literally meant that they were...sort of vocals.

"Vocals" start about 3 seconds in.

Random fact: That gun I'm using in the last screenshot (with the glitchtrooper) is the Novasurge.

1815923 It looks different than the regular Novasurge, is that one of the mods?

1816992
Yeah, it's a mod. I think it was from FWE...or maybe EVE. I'm not sure.

Here's a better view from an old screenshot.
