    How suck/not-suck is this cover art?

    Hey folks. Next story is coming along, despite the kinks Season 5 is throwing in its path (Seriously, Babs Seed got her cutie mark? Off screen? For hairdressing? There's no way I could've planned for that). Chapter 1 is close, and I'll post it once I have Chapter 2 ready for editing so there hopefully won't be too long a break between updates.

    Table for a guest, plus call for editors

    Have you heard about Kitsune Risu's new project? No? Have you heard of Kitsune Risu? You should. He's one of the most underrated authors on this site. Roughly one third of my library of Criminally Underrated Stories were penned by this guy.

    Bitter Harvest mini-prequel of sorts

    Some of you already know, but I have been hosting weekly writing prompts over at Thirty Minute Ponies. Each prompt is always posted with a mini-fic alongside it, sort of as an example, but mostly to keep myself writing alongside the participants.

    Contest results, and an apology

    This is embarrassingly and inexcusably late, and still half-assed and incomplete, but...

    The It's My Birthday and I'll Ship Ponies If I Want To contest is over! Like, more than a month ago! Timing!

    I am really sorry about this. You folks who put effort forward to make something nice deserve better than this.

Delays, readings, and new stories, oh my! · 6:35pm Aug 6th, 2013

So, the handful of you that are following my Thirty Minutes series probably noticed that I stopped updating Thirty Minutes Shy rather abruptly, with very little explanation. Well, I am here to provide that explanation now, and that is that there was stuff. And reasons.

Yeah, screw you, Esle. Go ahead and be cryptic, see how many friends it makes you.

My reasons for halting progress on the series were entirely personal, and are now out of the way. I have resumed daily participation at TMP, and once I have built a buffer zone of a couple more stories, Thirty Minutes Shy will go back to daily updates. I apologize for the delay, and I hope you enjoy the remainder of Fluttershy's time in the spotlight. After I have finished my thirty prompts for her, Applejack will follow, and then Twilight will be the last in line, at which point I will have been writing for TMP almost daily for more than half a year.

Of course, with this comes the realization that I haven't published anything non-TMP-related in several months. Those promises I keep making to give you guys pink omniships and bloodsucking apple-farmers start to sound hollow when I repeat them months on end with nothing to show for them. I lost a lot of ground this month because I spent much of my writing time trying to come up with something for Darqfox's Twishy contest, only to end up with just under half of it finished by the time the deadline passed. But I like the story I came up with for it, so I will be adding it to my to-do list:

Orchestrated: Setting up two of your best friends to date each other requires grace, planning, careful timing, and no small amount of luck. Rarity has a handle on those first three.

In other news, more amazing people have done readings of my stuff! Deft Funk, who has already done an incredible job on the first chapter of A Teatime Visit, has gone ahead and applied his dulcet tones to chapter two as well. It's well worth watching both of them, as they are very entertaining readings.

In addition to that, obabscribbler has put together a fantastic reading of Twilight's Mom Has Got It Going On, one of the more popular entries in Thirty Minutes Shy. Find her reading of it here.

Orchestrated sounds promising. I'll absolutely give that a try whenever you get it done. I need to look into the TMP compilations at some point, too. Only have a few of the Rarity ones read, so far.

Hah! Welcome back. Also, from one writer to another...

Sheesh. Your dedication is amazing. Teach me the secret of sitting down and writing every day without getting distracted by... burgers and stuff, won't you? >_>;

But I'm looking forward to it. Especially Applejack's turn at TMP. For, after all, she is best pony.

1267855 The folks that run TMP are amazing people. They're the reason I've been able to stick with it for so long. It really makes a difference to know that you're guaranteed one comment from the mod on duty when you submit. Also they do a great job coming up with interesting prompts to write for.

I don't know how well their hours work for your time-zone over in Singapore, though. They tend to be open from late evenings into the night according to GMT, which I think translates to mid- to late mornings in your neck of the woods? *shrug* Here's a link, if you're interested.

>best pony

Oof. Yeah... yeah, apple pony is still best pony. But Rarity has been rising fast on my list ever since I started this TMP thing. You'd better do something about that, AJ, or else I'll have to change my wallpaper.

The timings are a little odd for me, yes. Because of work in the day in general and other things.

I'm... approximately 12 hours ahead of the US. I'm at +8 GMT, so... usually around +12 from Central USA or something. I'm not sure. >_>;

Thanks for the link, though. I've seen it before but I've never tried it out.

And don't worry. AJ will bring it back. She'll bring it all back~

But I won't be complaining! Rarity is a close second to AJ in terms of best pony.

Maybe I'll do a 30 minutes series myself starring the BEST pony of all.

Yeah, writing for TMP can really suck up all your writing time--I've kinda put writing for TMP on hold while working on my current Fimfiction story. I'm glad you've been enjoying it so much, though, and thanks for the kind words! :twilightsmile:
