An announcement (FOR ALL MY READERS, FRIENDS, and STALKERS)

So, Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat.

At this festive time of year, I feel that I want to be able to take all my time I normally expend on school and pleasure and stick with my family. I am leaving home this upcoming year, and want to squeeze as much time out of my last Christmas here as I possibly can.

    So...

    How are all of you?

I am working more-or-less on the story. Between vacation, my birthday, and preparing for fall term (full-and-a-half time student), I'm just a tad busy.

I'd like to say that I can get back to work in a certain time frame, but I don't know when. :twilightsheepish:

Anyway, just wanted to check in.

    Hey guys, I'm back!

    Dija miss me?

After a school-induced hiatus (keeping a 4.0 is not an easy task), I'm back...

...next week (the week after finals). Even then, I will be job-hunting and working on some self-directed study. Oh, lucky me.

In other news, I'm still slowly working on My Little Civil Activist. I have a "mini-chapter" almost completed, but it won't be completed until next week at the least.

IMPORTAINT! READ THIS! (Results!) · 11:30pm Jul 3rd, 2013

I was recently featured. I was all like

But now, I have a question for my readers.

I have hit a wall on how to continue the story, so I have decided to take a poll.

Fans of MLCa: EiS, I am calling on YOU.

How should this story continue?

Respond with:

(A) IF: You want Twilight to approach Mayor Mare

(B): If you think Carmel should take the lead again

(C) If you feel that Celestia should get involved

(D) Doesn't exist, just checking.

(E) If you think this story is lame and want to un-fav it

or (F) If you want me to pick something completely unexpected.

Write-in votes are acceptable!

May the best pet win!

EDIT: I am seeing a majority of a's, with b's as runner up.

I will leave the polls open until Midnight, PST on July 5th. (That's Friday)

Thank you guys for all your support. You are making me so excited.

EDIT 2: Thank you guys for commenting.

Looking at all the votes, I think I have an idea of where this story will go. You guys asked for it, so now I will write it.

End of line.

I think it's time for the Magical Girl to get her head in the game and ante up. She knows what to do, so lets see her do it and face the consequences. All that aside, it's in character for her.

A. All the goddamn way.

Im gonna vote A too because i want to seen mayor mares excuse.

1186199 And then resurrected, only to be brutally murdered thrice over, per day.

Wanting to see A as well.

I pick option A

I choose A, time to do some digging around

Option A, simply to see the traitorous nag squirm.

jz1

I think it should be both A and B. Twilight confronts Mayor Mare about it, and debates her until she contradicts herself. Then Celestia comes in and says that Ponyville is the only town in the whole country to have anything like this law.

What happened to option D?

Anyway, you should just write the story you want to write.

A. Twilight needs to do some shit.

Like everyone else, I'm going to go for Option A simply because it's not in Twilight's character to just sit by when injustice is being done (not to mention Option C would resolve the plot way too quickly, not to mention contradict the message Celestia sent to Twilight in the last chapter).

A and B, because Caramel can still act independently while Twi is going to Mayor Mare.

Maybe option A with some B to it. Have Twilight be a mediator for Caramel and the Mayor.

I would have to say both A and B. Twilight should definitely want to get to the bottom of this, but caramel will continue regardless.

A.
Twilight needs to get her purple horned head out of her purple arse and do something.

Option A seems the most logical choice.

Lets watch that politician try to brush Twilight off.

I kind of wanna see B, but I understand that A needs to happen. You have to try to show the enemies view of things so that you can at least see where they're coming from (even though this issue is mostly bigoted). Thus I wanna see A, followed by B. Although C could work if she disguised herself to give council to Caramel and/or Twilight. Hope to see more soon, keep goin and stay golden^^

A & B are the most logical progression of things I think.

A needs to happen, and F is always nice, but I sincerely believe the story will suffer if Caramel doesn't get back on center stage.

i think f would be funny or a if you cant do f

A, because political drama is my smooze.

C, all I have to say is that Celestia should take their right to Democracy, especially if it's being abused, or at least force change to allow stallions to leave the town of their own will, preventing the politicians from stopping the town from being destroyed by the laws they fight to keep. This would be best as it wouldn't get rid of the democracy, but would allow those who wanted no part of it to leave fairly(as currently the law prevents them from moving out of town without documentation, which they could easily be denied by the politicians.) Also maybe giving them the right to own property(As these two rights, unlike the rights of Stallions to vote, are part of the superior law of Equestria's larger overall government, and cannot be taken away by the local government)

If not, I at least think the protests should get a little violent (Riots, vandalism, resisting arrest and assaulting officers, assaulting supporters of the mare superiority laws... Maybe arson(burning down the town hall would get a point across).

C

As a ruler of a nation, it is in her majesty's best interest along of her public to oversee a slight done upon subjects whence have been wrong unto.

Her highness cannot ignore a public outcry once her majesty is informed of it as it is improper for her station.

If anything, princess celestia must have a hoove in this dilemma as befitting her station as co- ruler of Equestria while having her portage update her on the situation on the ground.

I hope I'm not to late to give a vote, by the way AWESOME STORY! :pinkiehappy:

I think it might be best to have a little mix of A and B, I see it would be right up Twilight's ally to go and see all sides of the argument before making any solid choice on any course of action. I also think, no I love how you've portrayed Caramel, I absolutely love it  Caramel like some other ponies doesn't get a lot of love so I'm happy to see him get some attention. Back to the point, because Caramel has been shown to be a major player in the Stallion Right Movement, I think it would be wrong of him not to take lead if not in the next chapter than for it to at least be hinted at at some point.

While I do think Celestia by all right has the authority to get involved, I agree with your last chapter; she shouldn't. It would undermined a lot of what little gain the stallions have made. She hasn't ruled a kingdom of ponies for a thousand years with out learning how to play her cards right.

Also...can we have some more Mac and Caramel dialogue sometime in the future. I liked that little bit between the two of them over the boycott of apples, it should how strong and flexible friendship can be.

Anyway keep up the great work!

I have to pitch my lot in for A.

...

Wait, we're all voting in a blog about a story that's about male ponies trying to get the right to vote.

...

Huh.

1186537 If she does, it would be to pass a law stating all towns and cities must give equal rights to all citizens or something to that effect.

I vote G: Twilight gets Carrot Top to let her take over as the Moon Party representative. A national Hero and somepony from completely outside of all these issues is much more appealing than anypony who has lived with these issues for generations. Because of her from being outside of all this originally she will be a much better candidate for the stallions to wanna support. ESPECIALLY since she has been shown to be such things like coercion and bribery and favors and all that.

A: In all honesty, Twilight would realistically be able to deconstruct and ruin all arguments to the contrary in short order. She's not the type to let silly hangups get in the way of progress.(Which is actually how she is just as likely to cause horrible horrible(hilarious) chaos, but that's what we have...)

This for!
F: She gets fed up and uses a town wide mass gender swap spell after figuring out a way to both use it, and power it across town. The nuclear option.

I think you should for 'A' and then 'C' in some sort of fashion. I'm thinking this way;

Twilight goes to Mayor Mare, listens to what she has to say, goes home, talks to friends next morning when they complain about the blockades on their businesses and then decides on what to do.

Personally? This is what I think should be her solution. Go to Caramel and lay down the plan to bring the whole thing to the royal government, which I'm assuming must have some sort of parliament. Make the case that the Ponyville constitution is conflicting with the rest of Equistria, which is a plain bad thing to have and would be grounds for intervention from higher government.

Granted I would prefer to see it resolved without such extreme measures and have Twilight go nuts on her friends and the whole system but this is absolutely crazy.

1186631
No. A Spell like that wouldn't work too easily. HOWEVER! I bet Poison Joke or even Discord, if he is free, might find doing that EXTREMELY hilarious. And Infact, just turn all the mares into stallions or even just Mayor Mare, she instantly becomes unable to be a candidate.

I vote for option A, given that Twilight would hardly sit back and watch while one of the greatest injustices in Equestrian history happened.

1186635

I said "The nuclear option".

The Nuclear-Twilight option.

Leave none unaffected! :pinkiecrazy:

Obviously,(A) is the way to go.
Also, Twilight needs to go see:
Her friends, to understand their positions on the subject, as their stance has not come into play since the first chapter.
Carrot Top. I once again raise the question of what assurance the stallions have that Carrot Top won't turn around and just do the same thing Mayor Mare did. After all, if it happened before, it can happen again.
(C) is tricky, given that you've already done a chapter on why Princess Celestia can't just swoop in and save the day. Only bring her in if you're prepared to go in on the whole Federal (or Royal rather) mandate versus States' (or...provincial I suppose) rights argument a'la the Civil Rights movement in American history.

Since Caramel is in jail at the moment, and presumably will be for at least a day or two, A makes the most sense right now, followed up by some B. I'd like to see C, if only as Celestia making a public statement of her feelings on the matter. She may not be able to do anything directly without removing the whole purpose of a democracy, but as a well loved leader of the nation, simply mentioning it will bring a lot of unwanted attention on Mayor Mare's head, especially since the rest of the nation has been equal for decades at this point. I can't imagine many businesses wanting to do business in a town where their male employes can't legally ever leave.

C) A good leader wouldn't let that kind of blatant inequality continue.:trollestia:

A. and F.

A has the most room for interesting expansion from the list you gave out, and F for plot twists. I'm wondering if Mayor Mare lied to get the Stallions' support or if she was coerced by other Mares in power to back down from her original stance. Twould be the path I'm most interested in seeing, A.

I am seeing a lot of a's.

This is exciting.

I chose number B!
