One Year Brony Writer Anneversery · 9:27pm Jun 27th, 2013
I was looking at my profile today and I realized something very important:
I have been doing this for one year today.
I've been looking at my progression and I'm surprised that this sometimes mediocre, sometimes good, and sometimes terrible author is where he is today. Almost 75,000 story views, 1150 followers and probably 5 or 6 stories in the featured box. Let me be the first to say that I never expected to go this far. When I first came onto Fimfiction I never expected to be anywhere near as popular as I am. I expected to have maybe 50 or so followers after the first year. Maybe 1500 story views. But this... never in my wildest dreams.
Looking back I realize I only have one group of people to thank and it isn't me.
It's you guys.
Anybody who ever followed me or my stories, thumbsed up a story of mine, gave me constructive criticism, commented, or edited a story for me I can only tell you that I appreciate you guys so much. Heck even those of you who thumbed down a story but were man enough to tell me why as opposed to being cowards and doing hit-and-run thumbs down, I thank you because you have helped me improve.
From my first story The Switch (ten favorites) to Princess Celestia Gets Mugged (2,349 favorites) and No, I am NOT a Brony, GET ME OUTTA EQUESTRIA!!! (2,040 favorites) I can say that I have come a very long way.
On that note, I must say read The Switch at your own risk. Seriously, it sucks. I've had people read it and say "This is the same guy?" Unfortunately yes.
Now you may say "It's our pleasure to read your stuff" or you may say "Go home, BronyWriter, you're drunk and being overly sentimental." Yeah probably. But I still want to thank you for your support. I do it for you guys and I could not do it without you.
One final note: I am making plans to attend this year's BronyCon. It's not a done deal, but I think that it is likely (knock on wood). I hope to see some of you there. I'd love to meet the people who make what I do worth it.
