I'd just like to take a moment to breathe in this minor victory:
That's Through the Well of Pirene's current vote tally as of my last check around 1:50pm PST. I could have hoped for fewer downvotes, but I'll take what I can get!
You've all been waiting so patiently, I feel terrible not updating Pirene, even though I am literally sitting on pages and pages of it. Since you've seen fit to take me this far, I feel it would only be just and fair of me to give you a little update and a promise:
Update
Through the Well of Pirene is not only written through Chapter 2, it is written through Chapter 5 and I've made great progress on Chapter 6.
Well, what's the hold up, then?
I have four editors and only one of them has been able to look at Chapter 2 yet, and not very in-depth. One hasn't started at all but is clearing his schedule, another barely started, one is clearing his schedule to start Chapter 2 after finishing Chapter 1, and the editor who has looked at Chapter 2 isn't looking for inconsistencies or grammar, just plot elements. I posted Chapter 1 without any editing advice and I regretted it, because I did end up making serious mistakes that needed correcting, and all current changes are now reflected in the version up on Fimfiction.
I didn't want to leave you guys hanging for several months, but neither did I want to give you a product that went without any polish at all.
However, it's clearly been far too long. So...
The Promise
Next week, Wednesday, on May the 1st, I solemnly swear that I will post the next part of Through the Well of Pirene. I've secured at least a minor pledge for editors to look at it by then, but come hell or high water, Through the Well of Pirene - Chapter 2: A New Lease on Life will be posted.
It may will need tweaks and modifications, but I owe it all to you who have waited and shown support.

Two of those were added within the past couple weeks. I'll see what I can do. Getting an editor to commit to a work the size of Pirene is non-trivial.
