OKAY! Let's start!
One year ago, today.
I was sitting in my room, looking at the new comments I got on my story, Stuck. I saw in my notifications that I had received a message from RatofDrawn. I was so happy - I followed him on DeviantArt, and he was one of my favorite artists. And, secretly, I was kinda glad he noticed me. I commented on his pictures a few times, buuuuuuut he had many followers. I...kinda had a little bit of an artists crush on him.
Shh, don't tell anyone.
Who am I kidding, he doesn't let me live that down -_-
Anyways, I was a little nervous, as I always am with new comments, about what he was going to say.
What I did NOT expect was for him to leave a picture in my comments - a fan art (my first one EVER) of Stuck. ((The one that is currently the Stuck cover art).
I could only take the picture in for a millisecond before walking away from the computer - it was far too epic to take in. I don't think I ever blushed so much from an image in my life. Someone who's art I admired, who drew something for something that I wrote. And a clopfic, no less! It was all just way too much. I couldn't stop smiling for the longest time! ((Sorry, other fan art. I did have a similar reaction for many fan arts, but nothing is ever quite as intense as your first.. . ^_~)
We started talking that day, that one artist guy from Switzerland who I kinda knew of online, and that girl from the States who liked to write and just happened to get a little noticed with a story she wrote. And we kept talking. And we never stopped talking.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is: today is the anniversary of the day my life changed for the better. I was going through a very difficult time back then. Hell, I even got into ponies because of everything I was going through - ponies was a nice escape. And that led me to want to contribute to the fandom. And that led to drawing and writing (which I had not really done in about five years). And that led me to eventually write and post Stuck. And that odd little story that I thought maybe a few people would notice and then forget, completely changed my life.
Because of what transpired one year ago, today, I have a life and place of my own. I've been to New York and to Switzerland. I started figuring out who I am outside of my family. I fell in love, got engaged. I started dreaming and planning for a future again, instead of just living day to day the same monotony I thought I would have to live for who knows how much more of my life. I finally started the long process of healing. I finally started working towards accomplishing some long-standing goals I had abandoned long ago.
God, I sound melodramatic, haha! Especially considering all this transpired from a CLOPFIC. Hooo, boy.
But seriously, if you don't like public displays of affection, turn away now!
........okay, I think they're gone. *ahem, ahem*
To my RatofDrawn, thank you for being there for me. I love you so much, and I can't believe, with all technicality, we've only known each other for a year. It feels like we've known each other for ages. I can't believe how much has changed for both of us. I could get sappy.....er. Sappier. But I don't think I can continue without getting too personal or too emotional.
And though asking me over and over again what I'm drawing for you when it's a SURPRISE *glares* can get ANNOYING =P, I wouldn't have it any other way. Happy Anniversary ^_~

946812 1) when I first posted the story, I thought a lot of people would hate it because it was a clopfic, and maybe a handful of people would read it, and that was it. So that explains why it took me so long to write a second fic - the sudden spotlight intimidated me >_< and 2) CHOCOLATE COVERED GRAPES!!!! I've wanted to try some ever since I wrote that story and googled the picture for it. I thought Dash was making it up >_< She wasn't. Were they good? Someday, they WILL be mine! OH, and read below in response to the, "what to tell the kids" thing...

...Actually, when he proposed, he had originally wrote to Ashleigh Ball's agent to get her to do something in Applejack's voice so he could animate it..but by the time he responded, he was already here and it was too late to do anything. Plus, he asked if we wanted to tell our story to a documentary. Considering the means through which we met...uh....our answer was, "no". Hehe.

946913 In truth, Chocolate Covered Grapes is probably the closest I'll get to telling a personal story without actually telling a personal story on this account (not the love aspect of it, mind you). It's not like I haven't thought about it, but I think I'm too connected to it. It will probably show up in bits and pieces in written pieces throughout my life, including fanfiction, but this whole experience already feels surreal to me without putting pen to paper.

Well, a lot of times people like porn because sex is so emotionally charged, I think -- even if the readers don't realize it consciously in most cases.
Anyway! The point is, that's really awesome, even if it's a story you'll have to wait to tell your kids until they're older. (Or never. I could understand never wanting to tell them! ^.^)
