Good news (Chapter 16) and Bad news (Health) · 7:57am Jan 15th, 2013

Good news, folks! Chapter 16 is completed and I have just begun work on Chapter 17. Chapter 16 turned out really well and it’s had a very strong reaction from the prereaders. It’s gonna be a good release, while 17 has been one I’ve looked forward to writing for a good long while. Heck, so are 18 and 19. There’s a good run!

But…why do I not have any dates?

Well, here’s the bad news.

I…may not have been as medically clear as I thought.

Tonight, I had to make an emergency call to the NHS about developing symptoms that to me felt like my appendix swelling, however after talking to them about it and them asking me to check a few things…it may be more serious. Small dimples on my left wrist, sore eyes when looking at screens and ongoing back pains and bloatedness after eating combined with a swelling feeling on my right hand side points to things other than appendisitis.

I’ll be blunt, the NHS suggested gastro-intestinal problems…but I’m a hell of a lot more terrified of what else it might be. I’m set for an emergency appointment for blood tests and potentially if I’m unlucky…a colonoscopy. The nurse on the phone used to be a gastrospecialist so he saw it for what it was as needing checked out. Thankfully, I think the wheels are moving to get a proper investigation going on this.

But this is why I’m not setting dates. I don’t know what I’m going to be submitted to. Either I’ll be taken in, tested, identified and given the proper medication…or I might end up on an operating table and bedridden in hospital for a month. At this point it’s unknown.

If worst comes to worst, I’ll make sure to upload Chapter 16 before I go in for treatment no matter what the date is. If not, the current plan is to keep working on Chapter 17 and see how we fare with that under the timezone and medical state until I feel I’m in a position to kick into full writing gears once again. When writing Chapter 16 I was pulling between 6-11 pages a day so it’s not that far off, I just want to be sure. The worst thing I can do for you guys is simply make spasmodic updates with no clear dates.

So the plan is just that.

Chapter 16 is finished. You’ll be getting that no matter what now. So we are definitely on track.

I’ll make sure to keep you up to date with every development I hear.

Oh dear. Best of luck, you'll be in my prayers.

All I can really say is I hope it's not too serious and you come out of the hospital with a prescription to fill and a feeling of immense relief. If you're still on medication from your recent surgery, it could be something as simple as an allergic reaction to that messing with your intestines or your liver. I don't really know how to express my extreme hope that it's something easily diagnosable and as easily treated without coming off weird, so I'll just wish you the best of luck.

I hope it works out smoothly for you, but two things:
1. Dont take chances with your health, make it thorough and show little mercy for incompetence ( most are good, but some... :ajbemused: )
2. You're awesome and we shall eagerly await your glorious return

Best of luck from one whom has a lot of experience of Hospitals, hang in there!
( thank you for recommending Gaunt's Ghosts btw^^ )

I hope so too! I just got back, had a blood test taken (Don't like neeeeedles....) and they've booked me for an ultrasound. They don't think that it's anything cripplingly serious given it's just the pain there and (being vague as I can here) the activities going to the toilet are normal.

I'll have a detailed update later when I regain use of my arm from that test better. Thank you for the concern though. :)

I'm taking no chances! Trust me on that one. I think the NHS needs a little shoving sometimes to get into gear. But they're good. Very good.

Just got bloods done, ultrasound soon, better update later when I can move my arm again! (Hate needles)

Glad you like Abnett. Started it? :)

*prays to Celestia* :fluttershbad:

713957 Yea, tho its too early to say much as im only half a dozen pages in aside from:

Very promising, already being intrigued and with so many books to go...
The potential is making me all giddy :twilightsheepish:

Nowhere near as giddy as i am for chapter 16 tho :rainbowwild:

Good luck! I hope you pull through this okay. My best wishes are with you.

Aw sh*t man, that's really bad news. I hope so much that it's not what I think it might be.... :rainbowderp:
That you finished the chapter is really good news! But still... I just hope the best for you. ♥

I'm sure you'll be well soon
May Celestia give you strength and Luna give you a fast curing

Yikes. Get better soon, Fuzzy!:twilightoops:

Eeek. :unsuresweetie: Here's hoping it turns out to be something relatively harmless and easily fixed.
