Where do I begin in this?
Well, let's start where I got this idea. When I stumbled upon Comma Typer's story, Pamasak-Butas; it was something I didn't expect, a story in my country, the Republic of the Philippines. I was hooked on it and that prompted me to write this story, but let me take you folks to how this story was made.
Idea:I was thinking on the ideas I had in my mind: Where should I start? What is the setting of this story? Who are the characters? How will the story play on? Sure, the place is the Philippines but then, I had to think where should it begin? Comma Typer used the capital, Manila to be the setting of his story; so I chose Subic, Zambales as the place of the story because I visited there twice, the first time I went there was during my field trip and the other was during a family staycation at a hotel. I also remember one time when I was 12 years old, I used to sell Halo-Halo to our neighbors back then.
Rating:I chose it to be Teen due to the fact there will be cussing and the use of mild profanity in this story.
Culture:The idea to use some Filipino foods is what inspired to the story and my memories of visiting Ocean Adventure and Zoobic Safari were the idea of me using that to my advantage. Add to the fact, I also love eating at 8cuts Burger Blends with my family when we go out and sometimes, we eat at any Japanese Ramen place that interests us like Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. And lastly, the brand Alaska was used to the eatery, the twins manage during the summertime.
The Characters
It's time you meet the characters of my story:
The unicorn stallion named Clockstruck Hour lives in Canterlot, the capital city of Equestria with his unicorn family that consists of his parents, Northern Rainbow and Aurora Gemstone as well as his younger sister, Artsy Palette.
The Pegasus mare named Melodic Nimbus hails from the city of Cloudsdale, the floating city of Equestria with her Pegasi family that consists of her parents, Speedy Cyclone and Calming Breeze as well as her younger brother, Booming Nimbus.
The Earth Pony mare named Citrus Delight resides in the quiet town of Ponyville, the famed place for all Equestrians and creatures live and she is one of those residents along with her Earth Pony family that consists of her parents, Sweet Lime and Grapefruit Delight.
The bat pony stallion named Bright Crescent comes from the bustling city of Manehattan, a bustling city full of delights and sights and he is one of these residents along with his bat pony family that consists of his parents, Sonar Strike and Eerie Surprise.
The human twins named Luke and Maggie Santos were the inspiration from two fictional characters that I adore the most: Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars franchise and Maggie Rhee (Greene) from the Walking Dead franchise.
What does that Alaska jingle mean?
If you're curious on what the Alaska commercial jingle, "Wala pa rin tatalo sa Alaska" mean; It means that nothing can beat Alaska and that's their motto they always use since it's their number one milk brand in our country.
