Thoughts For The Week · 6:23pm March 27th
With the Barcast ending, it's a final hurrah for the last bastions of interviewing writers on the site. It's sad to see that side of the community falter, but all good things come to an end eventually, even if you don't want them to. I'm happy that I was one of the final interviewed writers for their podcast. The experience was awesome, and I am so happy I got to experience it as an author, not as a viewer. I mostly lurked in their streams just to listen to different authors perspectives on writing (and then some, apparently!) and getting to finally be in one of those is just something else. My interview will be coming out soon, so I'll link that when the time comes, but man... time flies, huh? Shoutout to the Barcast casters and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors (both in fandom and outside it).
Anyway, this wasn't supposed to be a blog about the Barcast, so I'm going to cut myself off there and talk about the fics you'll be receiving here soon. For the Anon enjoyers, I do have one fic in the works thanks to a band that dropped a song that's such a vibe. It was hard to not write something loosely based on it. If you want to attempt to guess the pony involved, be my guest! You'll see if you're right when the story gets posted!
I do have some non-Anon works currently in progress. Got a new fic that will be geared towards a contest (first one that I haven't judged that I'll be submitting to since 2015). Also, got a couple chapters to post here in the next couple weeks, so keep on the lookout if you're following any of my incomplete tagged fics! Not going to spoil which ones.
Last, and certainly not least, I want to thank everyone who has submitted to the Shining Armor is a Terrible Dad competition. The amount of submissions has been insane, and I know there's going to be more. If you haven't seen the contest page, do not hesitate to look at it before you miss your opportunity. There are two days left before submissions are closed for good!
Going to close this blog out with a little bit of a happy note. Thank you all for the support as of late, I'm extremely thankful that people enjoy what I put out, and the amount of comments and messages I receive is just awesome. So, thank you, again. Definitely sucks that the Barcast has to end. I had just recently made it a goal of mine to get on there one day, so it's a bummer that that ain't happenin'. But I'm glad you got that chance, I'll have to check out your interview for sure.
Also, about that song you posted, I actually wasn't expecting to rock with it as much as I did. Not typically my type of music, but I can't deny that it's pretty good. Can't wait for your next fic, and I'm glad you're doing good big fam šš¼ keep up the dope work!

If it's any consolation, they're planning to have their last episode be a big batch of 5-minute speed interviews. It's not the same, of course, but if you're interested, keep an eye out for the sign-up Google Form they've said they'll post when the time comes.

That song is just top tier. I've been listening to their discography for the past couple days. We'll see which fic gets done first--betting on the non-Anon fic just because it's more clean and I didn't just already start to rewrite the Anon fic stg.

Ah, the joys of being a writer. Can't even tell you how much stuff I've rewritten multiple times just to never post it.
And I've been listening to a lot of music too lately (largely this playlist, which I'm sure doesn't surprise you), so I'd be lying if I said it wasn't inspiring me to write things. I made that kinda obvious with my most recent fic š sometimes you can't help but let music influence your writing. At least that's how I see it.
